Regardless of how the entire year played out last year, we were in the playoff hunt until the final week. What happened in that game? We were immediately down 21-0.
That was the signal right there, our defense let us down. Then, when we started to show some life and mount a comeback, what does our defense do? Folds like a house of cards. It had to be the number 1 concern going into the off season. _________________ Bring swag back to Dallas 2012.

I think he's still acceptable at nose but he can't play there forever. |
IMO, "can't play there forever" should start now. The last 2 years he has worn himself out at the end of games and is practically useless in December. I have a strong feeling we will regret not getting either Ta'amu or Chapman. |
I don't disagree. I just don't think he's the liability people make him out to be. The criticism he gets for being undersized is kinda like criticizing Steve Smith or Maurice Jones-Drew for being 3-to-6 inches than the standard players at their positions. To my knowledge, that criticism hasn't happened since they were draft prospects. _________________

Actually I am seeing wear on his body and he is still a solid player but I would like to move him before the guy totally craps out on us. He would be way better off as a DE. He would be an ugrade over who we have already and could have drafted a true NT and our Dline would be light years ahead. _________________

| With a healthy Murray, a healthy (better) fullback, and an unquestionably better and deeper o-line, we should have improved ourselves enough to close out some of those games for sure... and we only needed one. |

Sorry, but what did we win with their "solid" play???
Games are won in the trenches. The weren't solid enough to keep the giants and vikings from running through them like a sieve.
Let me put it this way... we went 0-4 against the Giants and Eagles last year. Their DLs dominated. The Giants DL is deep and unrelenting... probably the best in the NFL. The Eagles DL just got better and deeper.
Guys, I have a GREAT idea. Let's do this. We should all go over to the Giants and Eagles forums right now and troll the hell out of them with how much Phil Costa, Nate Living and Mackenzy Bernadeau have improved our OL. I'm sure they will agree that Romo will pretty much go untouched now. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

Since you are twisting every argument being presented right now; Riddle me this:
A: Offensive lines win championships?
B: Offensive Guards Win Championships?
C: Centers win Championships?
D: Defense wins Championships? _________________

Yeah, if you look at the annals of NFL history, I would say that the team that wins the battle in the trenches wins probably better than 75% of the time generally. If you look specifically at SB winners the % is probably higher. I think that's true both offensively and defensively. I think that is one of the reasons you and I both liked Ta'amu in the third and would have been happy with DeCastro and Konz in the first and second. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

We won the NFC East, twice. And our Only Playoff Game of this century. |

That's ridiculous. Who cares if the guy doesn't put up huge sack/TFL numbers, the guy is a beast at the POA and draws consistent double teams. That's huge in itself.

From what little is available about him, he sounds like a guy destined for special teams, if that. _________________

Exactly. "solid" was not enough to go to the next level. When they came up against really good DLs, the offense was doomed. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

The Giants sold out for complete 6 and 7 man run blitzing for an entire half, gambling and winning on a dropped Crayton pass and hit on Tony Romo's arm preventing a TO TD. Not to mention that they wouldn't have even been in the game if not for the bogus offsides against Ware leading to their game tying TD.
And the problem against the vikes was not just injury, but double injury. Free couldn't go in for the struggling, injured Colombo because he was already in for the not-struggling injured Flozell Adams. Very different than those guys at full strength.
and you got your wish after all... we picked up a UDFA with a mid round grade:

Great. An OL with a degenerative knee condition. He should fit right in. _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

It's not sour grapes, it's the truth. You of all people should be agreeing with me. You are probably the biggest Romo homer in the forum. You should be the one pleading for Jerry to give Romo the best chance to succeed. Perhaps, you don't want Jerry to really give Romo a really good OL because then Romo wouldn't have any more excuses? Let's face it, it would be pretty tough for you to incessantly apologize for Romo if Jerry took away the OL excuse, wouldn't it? _________________ Quote from May 7, 2013...

The reason Romo isnt a repeat superbowl winner is due to the defense. You are the only one missing that right now.... _________________
