I'm holding out hope for James Brown, bring him in and let him compete at guard with the others.

Keep him away from the liquor bar at all costs?

Is it anticipated that Bernstine will be a safety? If so, hopefully he does well enough to encourage the staff to move on from Merriweather.

I think Bernstine will be a FS. Don't they see Merriweather as a SS?

I assume both are/will be correct. If Bernstine can make the team, Gomes and Doughty can rotate at SS. Probably hoping for too much but if he doesn't become M.Kelly 2.0, it might be plausible. Alas, I think Merriweather will be on the opening roster barring great play from the rest of the unit, Bernstine included.

It looks like with DBs, they did the ole "throw a bunch against the wall and see what sticks" type of thing. I'm sure they have a plan.
I agree, but if that's there plan, it's not one I would endorse.

James Brown as the lead singer of Chicago?

Saturday, In the park, you' d think it was the fourth of July
I feel nice, sugar and spice
People dancing, people laughing, A man selling ice cream
So good, so good, I got you

Chicago is one of my favourite bands.

I'm not sure why James Brown went undrafted because he looked good enough at the Senior Bowl to think he would be, but then again, so did Ryan Steed. Chicago allows him an easier path to a roster spot, it's a good move for him as long as he can take advantage of it.

Jordan Bernstine was announced as a CB. The Hawkeye's website called him a DB, and I'll guess that he will be a FS/gunner with the Redskins. He's very active on Special Teams and that's what we need.

Yep.
SS. I'm thinking Bob Sanders type. If he can stay healthy, he could be one of the steals of this draft.

I was really surprised that these people weren't drafted:

37. Chris Polk, RB, Washington
101. James Brown, OG, Troy
119. Michael Brewster, OC, Ohio State
129. DeAngelo Peterson, TE, LSU
136. Jeff Fuller, WR, Texas A&M
139. Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia
141. Leonard Johnson, CB, Iowa State
161. Dwight Jones, WR, North Carolina

At one time Mayock had Leonard Johnson as his #5 CB overall.
Many sites had Dwight Jones as a second round pick a couple of months ago.
Same here:

Polk- got injured, teams concerned. When healthy he was worth a 2nd

Brown- I saw him as a mid round pick as did most scouts and mock drafters. There must be something wrong with him.

Fuller- he has starting wr ability, but didn't look good in the sr bowl if I recall. I really thought he'd go in the 4th or 5th

Minnifield- at one time thought to be a top 50 pick, he has that kind of ability. Knee surgery in Jannuary scared teams off and he is slow to recover from it.he could be a total steal for us as an udfa.

LeonardJohnson- shut down Justin Blackmon. Total shock he went undrafted. I saw him as a top 100 pick.

Dwight Jones- like you said, at one time people saw him as a 2, possibly late 1st. Parrothead fell in love with his potential. Honestly I never really saw round 2 ability but still I figured he'd be a late round pick. For him to go undrafted is a head scratcher.

What are you talking about? I was singing Randals praises... And AJs... Not Dwights.

I thought Dwight was ok. 3rd or 4th rounder at one time.

I'm not talking about recently. I'm talking bout in January or February when you said he's a 2nd and you could see him in round1. I didn't think that, I thought mid rounds at best.

But hey, maybe I misremembered that discussion

There is never any guarantees in life mid. We could pick up Peyton manning Vincent Jackson Ben Grubbs, Draft Reiff round 1, Dwight Jones in round 2 and still have a bottom half offense, sometimes you gotta freakin try though. Now is definitely the time. IMO its past time, especially with how many strides the D made last year.

When everytime something like that was said. Id say, No no, want RR.

Sure because you convinced me that he was worth the pick. You are a great salesman
