Just out of interest, how much would we have to eat if we were to cut Colon?
It's not gonna happen and I don't even know if we can afford to do it but just wondering. _________________

we'd end up eating the entirely of this season's salary, and it would cost against the cap.
it literally would cost us a bit more to cut him than to keep him, even if it's just to guard the right side of the bench _________________

Colon signed a 5 yr, $29m contract in July of 2011. The signing bonus was $6m, spread over 5 years is $1.2m a year, 4 years left thats $4.8m.
So, we would have to eat an instant $4.8m hit on our cap this year because that's what's left of his signing bonus that would be spread over the next four years.
Now, I'm not sure we would have to pay Colon this year's salary, might be wrong on though, but I thought players had to play six games, or so, before they accrued a full year. |

Wouldn be surprised if we trade or release him next year. Colon is offically expendable, only because our O-line is pretty young. We are going to keep Colon until Mike Adams/Marcus Gilbert both prove that they can start.
If I were steelers GM, I wouldn't worry about Colon's salary; I made a mistake, it's like signing up for a 24 hrs gym at 40 dollars per month and then found out there's Planet Fitness that only charge 10 per month and is 24 hrs! do you stay with the contract or cut it loose even if it will cost you more (the cancellation fee)?
Long-term it will be better if we let Colon go sooner. After retaining either both or one of those; Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown, things will ease out, hopefully!
I think at this point, we have sufficient at depth, even I'd rather have Jonathan Scott than Willie Colon just because of his durability, as a depth tackle, can't really complain. |

Yeah, but who wants to train at Planet Fitness? The worlds most ridiculous excuse for a gym. _________________

| One, its a metaphor. Two, okay...? Three, any gym is good if you are serious about working out. Lastly, I understand you are young but saying something like that makes you seem a [inappropriate/removed] because you dont want to or doesnt have to work out. |

Looks like the alarm has already been sounded!
Actually, if you are serious about working out then Planet Fitness will restrict you eventually since you aren't allowed to make noise. Try placing a 500lbs Deadlift on the floor without making a rather loud noise. No Olympic movements would be possible either.
Don't they give out free pizza and bagels and stuff too?
Also, my age has nothing to do with it, I could find hundreds of adults that would whole-heartedly agree with me. _________________

Yeah, I've seen them having Krispy Creme(sp) give-aways. That place is a joke, and it's things like that why we, as Americans, have so many problems with obesity. I get the concept of making a gym that is accepting of all people(which Planet Fitness doesn't even do), but that place is terrible.
I'll get off my soapbox and I'm sorry for derailing the thread. _________________

Well, it's so cheap because they don't care how clean and well-kept the place is. It's gross to go into and the dare everyone tells is trying to go into one of their bathrooms. It's the laughing joke at that place!! |

The gym I go to is £10 ($16) and is very nice and clean. Has all the equipment you need etc. just cheap because they don't have saunas and all these add ons that are unnecessary. _________________
