That our FO is very confident in our roster and felt we had only one real need going into the draft at NT, which will hopefully be filled by the Mammoth Po brothers.(Dontari Poe & Jerrell Powe)

That we were a lot more straight-forward on who they'd pick with the media moreso then usual. Months ago they said they'd address the OL, and they were serious. Allen projects to start at LG in 2013, and Stephenson projects to be our swing tackle. They also said after Thursday night they'd be drafting for Depth, Competition & they'd be surprises. Certainly how it happened.

We still like good character, and aren't afraid of fan backlash.

The Bears draft told me that they don't care whether the QB is knocked out of the game.

That they are commited to Christian Ponder as their QBOTF, and they never want to go thru what they had to with the secondary last year.

Jeff Fisher has seen The Replacements and is making sure his Rams will win that bar fight.

The Bills are continuing to build their team through players from the south. especially the SEC.

that we like to trade with Bill Belichek's team.

Also hope we have similar success as our other NE draft picks we've acquired:

2006 - Greg Jennings, Jason Spitz
2009 - Clay Matthews, Jamon Meredith

2012 - Casey Hayward, Terrell Manning

Im not sure drafting Kalil means they are necessarily committed to Ponder. For them to show a strong commitment to Ponder, A premier QB prospect like Griffin would have had to have fallen to the Vikes, with MN still taking Kalil.

I think drafting Kalil shows they are committed to making the team better, and trying to give Ponder as much support as possible, but if MN has a top 5 pick next year and a premier QB prospect does slide to the Vikings pick, the commitment to Ponder will truly be tested.

Just being honest, i think Rick and Christian are tied at the hip. IMHO the Vikings would have passed on RG3.

-Our offense lacked playmakers
-Our OL could be better
-We could use some depth on D

Honestly the positions we drafted are pretty much exactly what I expected.

told me we had very little to work with. the old regime traded away every last asset we had. it also showed me we are going after high character football players. not just 40 times. in other words we should be excited as raider fans.

This year's Texan's draft told me that they really scouted the Big 10 area. They also know something that we don't about WR. Also, the really wanted to add depth to the OL, and finally they have faith in the secondary (namely the 2nd cornerback position) by adding another pass rusher.

The Raiders aren't risk takers anymore. Athleticism and upside used to rule our drafts, now it's work ethic and character. McKenzie even said their religious faith was a factor, not a huge one but still a factor.
