If NJB doesn't get drafted, he is my #1 priority in UDFA.

Players we have signed:

Marqutte King, P, Fort Valley State
Lucas Nix, OG, Pittsburgh
Derek Carrier, TE/WR, Beloit
Aaron Henry, S, Wisconsin
Dominique Hamilton, DT, Missouri
Chaz Powell, CB, Penn State
Thomas Mayo, WR, California (PA)
Brandon Carswell, WR, USC
Conroy Black, CB, Utah
Kaelin Burnett, DE/LB, Nevada
Darius Nall, DE/OLB, UCF
Mario Kurn, OLB, San Diego
Rod Streater, WR, Temple
Corey Gatewood, CB/WR, Stanford

You guys just got a hall of famer wide reciever. I played with this guy at Alfred State and he truly has worked his butt off to go from juco all the way to the nfl. He will be a starter on your squad.

I think the hall of famer part blew me away moreso than starter, but anyways I have a lot of faith in RM's eye for talent and who knows it surely isn't beyod reality and hes made it this far but this is where thehurdles get mighty tall and a lot closer to each other.

Streater is an interesting project. If he's a hard worker he'll get a shot at PS at worst.

There is some nice competition for a rotational run stuffer. Going to be a good fight between the 3 for that spot. I like all 3 in the competition.

I like that the staff is loading up at this position. How many years have we gone through the entire process without picking up a single new DT prospect? It looks to me like this staff is looking toward the future when we will eventually feel that Seymour's contract is totally out of whack. I think that it is right now. But if we can get another year out of him while he shows these young guys how to work we can get rid of him next year and try to get a little compensation for him.

If these young guys work out (especially against the run) I would take whatever I can get for Seymour and use that $7M worth of cap space all over my roster. We have a few more young defenders coming up for free agency and that money can be used there instead of having it all go to one player.

Nobody is trading for Seymour 15 million dollar contract man.

I never really think much about UDFA's, but this is the first time I've liked a lot of the players we picked up. A lot of intriguing prospects. A few of them even have a strong opportunity to make the team IMO. Worst case scenario, we improve our weak practice squad.

Indeed. That's what i like the most about our new staff. We finally used UDFA to bring some solid competition into camp. From what i remember, we mostly used to bring guys who seemed to be there for the sole purpose of filling out the TC roster but had no real shot of developing into NFL players. This year, a lot more of our UDFAs were draftable players. I think Streater, Mayo, Carrier, Nix, Hamilton, Kurn, Burnett and Henry have a real shot to make the team. I guess that also has to do with our weak depth coming into the draft but at least we did something about it.

Good call. Still don't think they pay that though.

No reason to traded Seymour. He is a rare vet who truly helps younger players. Kelly, Shaugnessy and Houston have all commented on how much he meant to their games. Let him get hands on with Jack and Christo among others.

He's a good leader and player. Let him go out on his own terms.

Let's hope we get at least one roster member from this group......

Wasn't too fond of our picks but then again, we were really handcuffed by the old man this year. I still can't believe who we passed on at 95 though. There were some pretty damn good prospects we let slip right through our fingers.

Yeah and by watching Crawfords tape he could use as much help from Seymour as possible. The guy has a long way to go but has the build to be good if he can get a good technique.
