We signed Brandon Bolden from Ole Miss

Quote:
Bolden is a powerful runner who will usually run through the first defender. He is decisive to hit the hole as an inside runner and is patient for his blocks to develop. He can get low and hide behind blockers before sticking his foot in the ground to either move hard laterally or up the field to burst through to the second level. He looks good when initiating a hard drop step to bounce outside, and once there can outrun defenders to the perimeter. Bolden is reliable both in taking care of the ball and gaining yards with power or speed.

Quote:
Runs harder than he does powerfully. Ordinary hip strength and flexibility—not a robust tackle breaker. Average initial quickness and elusiveness (confirmed in RB-worst 4.49-second 20-yard shuttle at Combine). Could stand to improve as a blocker. Is immature and needs to learn what it means to be a pro. Character needs to be investigated.

Was just reading that myself TSF.
He wasnt to bad at the college level. He put some yards on some great defenses.

Should he actually make the team... He sounds like he would fit as a Hightower replacement one day with this part.

Anyone have any information on Kenny Turner RB from New Mexico State?
Rushed for 1074 yds and 10 Tds last year.

I watched some you tube of him, he's fast a one cut and downhill runner. He didn't seem to waste time behind the line. Finds a hole and hits it. He's a good pass receiver, to begin the year they had moved him to slot WR but their other rb had an injury they said and they moved him back.

Quote:
01/24/12 - . That said, look at the burst and agility he shows as a runner in scoring this touchdown as well as the ability to track the ball over his shoulder on this score. At minimum he'll get a tryout and should Turner get a real opporutnity (like the Scouting Combine) who knows what could happen. One of the most tried and true strategies I use when evaluating prospects is to listen to other players. Who knows better than they which athletes really are a step ahead of the others? Sims-Walker certainly is going to be loyal to his friend but his strong words predicting Turner's future success in the pros doesn't just sound like loyalty. It sounds like an NFL athlete who knows the goods when he sees it. "I keep telling everybody it's just a waiting game," Sims-Walker told Geoff Grammer of The New Mexican in August of 2010. When he (Sims-Walker), Turner and [Chris] Johnson work out together, he said, it is Turner who sets the pace. "New Mexico State got a steal, and I promise you he'll be (in the NFL). I'll put my house on it. Kenny Turner will be in the league." - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

]01/24/12 - Turner has had an circuitous route to the announcement, which was made via the official New Mexico State Athletics website. As NFLDraftScout.com's No. 32 rated running back of the class of 2013, the decision may at first appear surprising. Turner, 26, was viewed as one of the best athletes in the state of Florida when he allowed a momentary act of youthful self-preservation change his life. Turner and a group of friends, including current Jacksonville Jaguar wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker got into a heated verbal altercation with another group of young men outside of a Orlando, Florida gas station in July of 2002. The argument escalated into violence when a member of the other group fired a gun. Thomas, then 16, took a gun from the car in which his group was riding in and fired back, injuring two from the rival group. Despite his young age, the seriousness of the crime led to Turner being tried as an adult and for two counts of attempted murder. Prosecutors were willing to drop the two attempted murder charges if Turner agreed to plead guilty to one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Turner was sentenced to and served five years in prison. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

Troubled past though, hopefully he's learned an stays away from Meriweather and Tanard Jackson.

Did he sign with anyone? This is Chris Johnson Best friend. They played ball together while young and Chris stuck with him throughout his time in jail and both dreamed of playing in the NFL one day.

Ok Thanks. ESPN did a special on his story and from what I saw dude is for sure someone people should give a shot too and with Chris by his side I would think that would only help.

Kenny Turner is a friend of Mike Sims-Walker, too.
I can't find any information on him being signed.

I'm sure TEN and JAX have the inside tracks, but due to his past....
Unfortunately, many teams may not offer a contract.

Oh cool, not to be a [inappropriate/removed] but I'd like to see a link to that information. If true, that's amazing. I'm not sure he makes the 53 man roster though. If he doesn't make our 53 man roster, Philly or anyone else can sign him away.

They've been discussing it on Hogshaven all morning and Tandler answered Twitter questions about it. Thomas apparently posted on his Facebook page too.
