I think the #1 pick is going to come entirely from nowhere like it has the past couple years. No one called the Colts being as bad as they were last year, and I sure as heck didn't see the Panthers picking first the year before.

So, I'm going to take a random guess and say that neither QB pans out for Arizona, and they pick #1. No offense, Cardinals fans, I'm really just guessing randomly. There are too many factors to think about.

Right now, I think the Dolphins have the best chance. I like their coaching but that roster just seems so barren on offense.

I think we'll see Miami with the first pick and Arizona trading up to pick Matt Barkley.

I know the Browns had a good Defense last year and with the addition of Trent Richardson they will be alot better but you have to factor in that the Steelers/Bengals/Ravens have also improved alot, I just hate the Weeden Pick because it made no sense.

What if the Browns end up 1ST Overall Next year and Weeden shows improvement but still not a Franchise QB but on the other hand Matt Barkley Wins the Heisman and goes to the BCS National Championship Game what do they do? Say that they really screw up by taking Weeden in the First and take Barkley while dumping Weeden for anything or do what the Rams did and get a Kings Ransom for the Pick and build around a 30 Year Old Second Year QB?

I would love to hear some legitimate reasoning for why the Browns will be picking #1 overall next year. I bet most people don't realize that the Browns were two botched snaps away from being 6-10 instead of 4-12. Cleveland had a horrible running and passing game yet still almost went 6-10. Richardson should help vastly improve the running game and I can't see the passing game being as bad as it was last year. Even if Weeden isn't an improvement over McCoy, Cleveland's receivers will have more experience. Greg Little was pretty good for a rookie last year but he doesn't get much credit. The offensive line should also be fairly better, which will benefit both the running and passing game.

The defense was already good last year and should continue to improve.

Yeah, barring a ton of key injuries, I don't see how the Browns will be the worst team next year. It's funny, there was a thread where people even admitted to not knowing much about the Browns but they're confident enough to say that the Browns will be the worst team in the league. Get your facts straight before making a prediction like that.

I'll give you two. A harder schedule (your 4 wins came against indy, jax, miami & seattle and 3 of those were by 4 points or less..and at least one, the jax game, probably should have been a loss) and an unsure qb situation. I would expect you, as a Browns fan, would expect to see some improvement on the offensive side of the ball, but can you really fault other fans for not being terribly impressed with what you did to try to improve your passing offense? Don't get me wrong, I like that you got Richardson and I think he will be a very good player for you guys, but ask a Jags fan what having a great rb, top 6 defense, and craptacular passing game gets you....not a whole lot.

What happens if:

-Sam Bradford has a breakout year and leads the Rams to a decent record whilst falling just short of a pro bowl calibre year.

-Washington have a terrible year and end up with the first overall pick.

-Barkley cruises to the heisman and leads USC to the national championship whilst confirming himself as an elite prospect.

If this happens to the Rams trade back for another kings ransom?

Dude yes!!!
Btw where's our super old sig bet lol?
That was fun good sport.
Teams will deff Call for Matt.

Nope.

They'd call the team drafting after STL, because they know they won't draft a QB with Bradford on their roster.

I lol'd hard. Were you locked in a cave for the last 3 months? People used that same logic this year and the Rams still came away with a King's ransom.

I'm still not sold at all that Barkley will be the top QB prospect next year. If Logan Thomas keeps improving, I think he'll be the best. He has it all physically. If shows better consistency, footwork and ability to read defenses, I think he'll vault Barkley.

The Browns have a slim chance of picking last. We had one of the youngest teams last year and it should be a year better. We didn't lose any good players. We added Trent Richardson, Brandon Weeden, and Mitchell Swartchz who should all be large improvements over the players they are replacing. They had a top 5 defense last year and are replacing their worst starters. I think Trent Richardson is the most pro ready rookie to come out since Peterson. Even if the rest of the roster doesn't improve we had one of the worst running games in the NFL last year and it should be much much better this season.

I don't think the Browns will be good, but they have a lot of good young players and at the very worst will field a similar roster to last year.

The Rams have the best chance of picking first, because they have 2 picks from teams that haven't done well recently. Also - as much as I love what the Redskins and Rams did this offseason to help them in the future, I don't see their rookies having big impacts from day 1.

If I had to guess what team finishes with the worst record I will say Kansas City. Just a hunch. I know they weren't close to the worst team in the league last year and some of their best players were out with injuries, but I have no faith in their QB situation and feel like their defense might slip. Romeo Crennel is also the worst coach I have ever seen in any pro sport.

I find it peculiar so many people are putting the Dolphins there, considering they were pretty much an average team a year ago. Do you all think that highly of Brandon Marshall?

It really is difficult to pick one. Injuries have to be taken into consideration because those are always one of the driving forces of who ends up with the #1 pick, but you can't just guess injuries.

I'll say a really good darkhorse is the Eagles. If Vick goes down that team is not built to win with poor QB play. They are built to score points, put the opposition in a spot where they have to throw, and pin their ears back and rush the passer.

If Vick goes down, you suddenly have mediocre QB play and the defense is taken out of their comfort zone, being forced to stop the run. Yes, I know who they've added this offseason. Doesn't mean the run defense is going to go from black to white.

I think the Cardinals are another good guess. They overachieved last season on defense as far as I'm concerned and I don't think their QB play is going to be much better if they stick with Kolb. Everyone in the West has gotten noticeably better this offseason but I don't really see it with Arizona.

I think Cleveland is definitely going to be top 5. Jaguars will definitely be top 10. Dolphins are likely to be top 10 or top 5. I see the Colts as definitely being in the top 10. That defense isn't ready to win yet.

Lions could be another surprise team. Stafford has his injury history and Backus is still at LT. The rest of the division added pass rushers like Nick Perry and Shea McClellin whereas the Lions didn't pay too much attention on fixing the defense this offseason. If Stafford goes down I don't think that team is very good.

Remember, these are all just my opinion Mr. Green

I'm surprised Jacksonville is pegged at #1. Our defense was legit, our running game elite, our QB AWFUL.

We still finished #7

But it's not as if all other factors remain the same for other teams and your schedule. I haven't looked at your schedule but I don't see Indy being easy wins this season and while you guys are getting better, so is everyone else around you.

I don't see you at #1, but I think you'll be a top 10 lock again. However, it's easy to peg you guys at #1 now because of your QB.

We have a fairly solid schedule, we wont be a top 10 lock again, research more into are team, are QB will be better, has Blackmon, and Laurent, along with MJD. First year doing Offseason workouts and training camp. Mularkey really helped devlop Matt Ryan into a NFL QB. Not to mention Gabbert played last season with a broken bone in his foot. We will be as good as Gabbert takes us. We have an upgraded Recieving Core, which is now a strength along with an ELITE running game, a Pro Bowl TE. Good Offensive Line. A top 6 defense in the NFL. We will win 7-10 games this year and will not be in the top 10 next year. Your more than welcome to LOCK this post and show me it at the end of the season. I heard ESPN saying we will be contending for the SOUTH. not to mention we have Henne as are Back up. Who is a Average QB.

Yea, that's kinda what me leads me to my top 10 lock claim. I like the rest of your team.

Well yea, I read everything to get to that part Laughing I'm just not buying it. Your offensive line is just decent at best and I really don't think it's been improved upon to give Gabbert any more time than last year, which was really his main problem. He's a guy that gets flustered under pressure and, while the new weapons will certainly help, I don't think they're going to make him a good QB.

And let's not pretend like Mularkey is some QB wizard. Matt Ryan is average at best and is probably Mularkey's greatest piece of work. Prior to that he unsuccessfully brought any type of success to the position at Miami while serving as the offensive coordinator and also couldn't improve J.P. Losman when he was the head coach of the Bills before that.
