| Quote: | | Former Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans quarterback Matt Leinart signed a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday after working out with the team, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed. |
Really a shame to see Leinart never find success in the NFL after being so hyped up before being drafted. I still own his rookie card and thought it might be worth some money some day; now he's on his third NFL team barely retaining a backup job. That's the way things go I guess. |

Yeah - I posted that he was visiting during the draft weekend. I really like Leinart and still thought he had some hope in the right system. I'm not sure what the Raiders plan to do with McKenzie and Allen but they've always been a deep threat offense and that's not Leinart's strong suit. Some Raiders fans can probably shed more light on this than I can. I think it's pretty cool that Leinart is backing up Palmer...again. Maybe Cassel can be their 3rd stringer? _________________ GO SEAHAWKS GO!

They're overrated & not making the Playoffs next season.
8-8 or 9-7 best for Seattle. (& No Playoffs) |

I wish some of you would pay attention. A different regieme took Pryor. Now, it looks like we signed a quality backup in case Palmer goes down.
This isn't rocket science guy. You cannot have too many QBs, much less young ones when Palmer is early/mid 30s _________________

Agreed - Campbell left in FA so you sign Leinart as a veteran back-up.
Won't Pryor stick around though as a 3rd QB and developmental project though? _________________ GO SEAHAWKS GO!

So have a second year QB who hasnt had an offseason or thrown a pass in an NFL game as our primary backup QB to Palmer. Yeah that would be a fantastic idea. |

Yea, Pryor will be the #3 guy... if he makes the team.
Reggie Mac might let him go if he doesn't look like anything in preseason and mini camps. _________________

Terrelle Pryor was such a lulzy pick.
3rd in the Supplemental is basically 1st Round value in the normal draft, but now it seems Pryor won't even see the field, at least for the next couple of years. _________________

Makes sense, Leinart and OC Greg Knapp have a good working relationship. Called this before the draft, actually...
Next up, Jacoby Jones. _________________

Always like Leinart, hopefully he gets it together in Oakland. _________________ Why, if it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg. |

I don't get it.
A draft pick which is directly equal to a 3rd round value, is basically a first round value. _________________

Pryor was never anything more than a 5th-6th round pick in a conventional draft, but the Raiders still obsess over how fast a guy can run rather than pay attention to how well he actually plays his respective position. Pryor had glaring deficiencies as a QB at Ohio State, but teams keep falling into that ideological trap that a QB who runs well means that he's a good player. And Pryor is not a good player. _________________
