Bengals Early Projections:

1. RE - Michael Johnson is a FA after the season, and unless he steps-up will likely walk and be replaced
2. MLB - This is all pending on how well Maualuga plays
3. RB - Again, this is pending on the performance of a player, this time Ben Jarvin Green-Ellis
4. RT - Andre Smith is a FA at the end of the season, and he must perform consistently to stick around
5. LE - Geathers ia FA after 2012 and we have no one setup to take over the back-up role to Dunlap
6. WLB - If Howard is re-signed this is only for depth purposes

The Vikings biggest needs going forward:

1. Franchise QB - Maybe Ponder fills the need, maybe MN looks at a QB in 2013. Too early to tell.

2. Disruptive DT - Kevin Williams' age is catching up to him, and I think he could be cut next year due to an inflating contract. MN's defense needs a premier DT to really be effective.

3. #1 WR - Harvin is a nice slot guy, and hopefully between Jarius Wright and Greg Childs, MN can find a #2. Or perhaps Childs fills the void at WR, he does have pretty solid potential.

4. RT - MN got its LT, but this year is make or break for Phil Loadholt. If he cant make progress, MN needs to move on.

5. CB - Josh Robinson has a lot of potential, so does Chris Cook, if they dont pan out, MN will be looking for a CB. Winfield is getting old anyway, and there isnt really any young CBs behind Winfield as the nickel who have significant long term potential. Or maybe Robinson is groomed as the nickel and MN drafts another CB to play RCB.

RB - James Starks still hasn't proven he can handle the load as the guy at RB. And behind him, they have a bunch of question marks there.

OG/C - Depth mainly, but a future starter needs to be developed behind Jeff Saturday. T.J. Lang is set to be a free agent after the year, but an extension should come.

NT - Depth again. B.J. Raji was underwhelming last year and Ryan Pickett is on his last legs, so a young guy to develop.

S - Not really sure where the Packers stand at safety after Nick Collins was cut. Morgan Burnett is the only starting caliber safety on the roster right now.

Similar to most teams, it really depends on how a few guys play this year. I'll try to anticipate those areas for the Seahawks needs.

1. LG
- As of now this team is crazy deep on the interior. We'll be starting 2011 stud Lemuel Jeanpierre while John Moffitt recovers, and the LG spot will be a competition between Pat McQuistin, Deuce Lutui, Frank Omiyale, and Rishaw Johnson. When Moffitt gets back, Jeanpierre could be kicked over to LG which would be a great move. We also have James Carpenter, last years 1st round pick, who spent limited time at LG last year. If Breno Giacomini plays as well as he did at the end of last year at RT during Carpenter's rehab, the team could keep him there and transition Carpenter to the full-time LG. If Breno plays poorly and Carpenter is returned to RT, LG certainly becomes a big need for this team.

2. #1/2 WR
- Similar to the interior line, we're crazy deep here. If a team could carry 10 WRs, we would do it. We already have Sidney Rice, Mike Williams, Doug Baldwin, Golden Tate, Ben Obomanu, Deon Butler, Ricardo Lockette, Kris Durham, and UDFA hopefuls in Lavasier Tunei and Jermaine Kearse. If you believe that BMW is going to have another down year or Sidney Rice gets injured again, this team will definitely be looking for a #1 or #2 WR to supply Matt Flynn with the best possible weapons.

3. OLB
- This one could easily be the top need come 2013. Bobby Wagner will be the starting ILB and KJ Wright will be the starter at SLB. Leroy Hill is on a 1 year deal and, while he's played great since Pete has been here, it's not a sure thing if the team sees him as the long term option. Most fans want to move Wright over to WLB, but it seems as though the team is set with him there. I imagine we'll be looking for a pass rushing WLB IF we part with Hill, which makes a guy like Sean Porter very valuable.

Honestly, at this point we're probably looking at adding luxury at most spots if all of those pan out. CB and QB could be needs if our current starters blow it. A pass rushing UT could also be a need if the team does not resign Jason Jones next year. If Okung gets hurt again we could see LT become a need.

Really depends on how other guys play, because as of right now we really don't have any needs.

The Washington Redskins Team Needs in 2013:

S - With Williams and Doughty as the starters, Washington needs a star performer at both positions with Meriweather still injured. Addressing this in the 2nd or 3rd round would be fine but 2nd round would be ideal.

CB - Considering Washington is 32nd in pass defense, the whole back end needs to be addressed. Starting caliber here or at S are priorities.

RT - Adressing a T late in the draft does not necessarily mean he is going to be the answer. We need a RT that is going to stand in for Brown and ready to take over.

MLB - Fletcher is slowly declining and Robinson may not work as a ILB. Need someone to groom when Fletcher decides to call it quits.

Atlanta Falcons

Round 1+2 - DE, DT, OG, TE
Round 3+4 - RB, CB + Any Above
Round 5-7 - LB, WR, Anything unaddressed

Needs - Starters

1. Defensive End - JA55 is aging and Biermann is a complementary player, not a star. Someone who can get pressure is our top need. We have lots of depth but we need a star.

2. Tight End - Definitely addressed; currently only one under contract for 2013. Gonzalez will most likely retire, so if we don't pick up a FA in a weak class then this is a major need. If Tony returns, mid-round need. It is a deep class however so Eifert/Ertz only if they drop into round 2.

3. Running Back - Michael Turner will be 31, averages 3.7 ypc and has a $8m cap hit. He will be cut in the offseason. Needs to be feature back size (210lbs+); will not handle 3rd downs. Staff wants to go about 50-50 with Rodgers on carries, so unlikely to be drafted particularly early.

4. Offensive Guard - Big RG please. Blalock and Konz (at C) are two positions but we need another as McClure will retire or be cut. Run blocking needs to improve.

5. Defensive Tackle - Only one under contract past 2013. A early or mid-round choice is likely. This may well be addressed in free agency.

Likely Needs - Backups (Rounds 3-7)

6. Cornerback - Either Robinson or Grimes will be a cap casualty, and Chris Owens may not be resigned. Two starters are 30+ (Samuel and Grimes/Robinson), and Dimitroff frequently uses round 3-4 picks on corners. McClain will be nickel so no need early.

7. Linebacker - Depth will be needed here, primarily for ST in the short term. Peterson is 36 and James is on a 1 year deal. Starters are set unless amazing value at MLB or SLB presents itself. Inside or Outside players with speed are the targets.

8. Wide Receiver - White and Jones are set but after that there is only Douglas with zero depth behind him. Drew Davis is serviceable as a #5, but it is likely that we'll take a late round slot guy with some speed who can also return either kicks or punts.

9. Kicker - We've now retooled both our punter and long snapper with young cheap guys. If Bryant's salary becomes problematic, we could draft a kicker (we drafted Bosher in the 6th in 2011)

Possible Needs

Safety - If William Moore is not re-signed (unlikely)
Offensive Tackle - If Sam Baker not re-signed (possible)

Detroit Lions Team needs for 2013

CB - They added Jacob Lacey via FA and drafted Dwight Bentley, Chris Greenwood and Jonte Green. Bentley will likely step in as the nickel with Houston and Lacey starting on the outside. Unless Greenwood, Green, Aaron Berry or Alphonso Smith come on very strong in 2012, this will be an area that needs addressed.

S - Spievey struggled at times in 2011 in key situations. Mayhew will want to upgrade this position if he repeats his performance in 2012.

RB - This could end up being a strength of the team after the 2012 season is over, but right now it's a question mark. If Best/Leshoure/Smith have injury issues again, I would look for the Lions to address this position early in the 2013 draft

DE - Currently, Avril has not signed his franchise tender. If they get him locked up long term then they may still look at DE in the early rounds to groom a replacement for KVB. If Avril leaves this becomes a very big need, given that Mayhew/Schwartz want to constantly get pressure with their front 4.

OLB - Projecting these a year out can be a bit daunting, but on the off chance that both Levy and Durant are gone after their contracts expire at the end of the 2012 season, this could possibly be their biggest need. The Lions like to keep their own guys though. Levy and Durant are both solid, reliable players who should come at an affordable price so I would expect them both to return, but anything can happen between now and then.

OG/C - Sims is solid, Raiola is better than average but he's on the wrong end of 30 and it's probably time to start grooming replacements for both him and Peterson.
