I'm no doctor, but I have had a sore achilles forever. It's not bad, but it hurts when I walk down stairs, try to do an explosive movement like jumping all the power is gone, and when I land after a jump sometimes my leg will give out. But I'm fine in the regular day-to-day sense. I was looking online and discovered the achilles tendon doesn't get great blood flow so it takes a long time to heal.

I hope a speedy recovery to T.Sizzle but I don't see it happening.

Again, no doctor, but what I've read about achilles tendon injuries seems to suggest that immobilization is critical in recovery. Have you tried putting the injured foot in a walking boot or some type of cast to see if that doesn't speed up the healing process?

I figure given the immediate medical resources available at his disposal, Suggs should have an easier time recovering from this injury than your typical average joe.

I've stopped playing b-ball and running. I have finals now so I have stopped lifting too and it's gotten better. I just wanted to comment on how long achilles injuries can take to heal from my experiences.

this is a definite setback for the Ravens.. losing an elite pass rusher, the reigning DPOY.. its going to be super hard to replace his production.

and Suggs, who is about 30.. I hope can get back to his old self and explosiveness because he's not a young guy anymore and is running out of miles..

To be fair though, you really haven't done anything to help heal it other than stop doing things that would just make it worse. So your expeience with how long it takes is quite a bit different than a person committed to healing as quickly as possible. Smile

That stinks for T-Sizzle. He is an elite player, so I think the Ravens will miss his presence. They should still be a solid defense overall, but unless someone really steps up, you don't replace an elite pass rusher just like that.

An Achilles (especially for a WR/RB/Pass Rusher) is a very serious injury and with Suggs already having almost 10 years on him, he could be looking at a serious career changer.

I like Suggs too.

Least favorite player in the league, but still don't like seeing these sorts of injuries happen to anyone.

Sucks bad for T-Sizzle and the Ravens. You don't just replace an elite player like Suggs.

Don't expect that to happen! I say Upshaw gets 5 sacks and sets the edge really well. He reminds me a Bryan Thomas.

That's actually a great comparison for Upshaw. Anyone expecting him to "replace" the edge rushing terror that is T-siz is going to be very disappointed.

I dont like Suggs at all (and no, not just because he is a Raven)...but he is fun to watch and I dont ever wish injury on anyone.

All the best to him for a speedy recovery.

I'm going to go with this prepared statement because it's the
"right" thing to say Laughing
