| Quote: | When a light rain started around 11:20 a.m., the team retreated to the indoor practice facility for the first rookie practice on turf. Practice ended at noon. Not surprisingly, the players that spent 2011 on the Redskins practice squad looked very comfortable in the positional drills, due to relative familiarity.
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III worked specifically with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who rans drills that emphasized mobility and throwing fundamentals. He was joined on the field by first year quarterback Jonathan Crompton and fellow rookie Kirk Cousins. | cool that they got to use the indoor facility, but really not much news in his article.
Anyways, I thought I'd start the thread so we can have it for a while. _________________

I'm watching redskins nation.
Cousins is wearing #12, let's hope he's better than last years #12.
LeRibeus is wearing 67. He is playing center, snapping to Rg3
http://www.redskins.com/news-and-events/article-1/LeRibeus-At-Home-In-Zone-Blocking-Scheme/42dcec1c-ed8c-415d-9244-317fd50f1434
| Quote: | LeRibeus played almost exclusively in a man-blocking system at Southern Methodist University, but feels ready to make the transition to zone.
"I love it," LeRibeus told the media in his draft day conference call. "We did a lot of it at the [East-West] Shrine game. Definitely feels more at home." |
Minifield is wearing #25
Keenan Robinson wearing #52- Rocky's old #

I never knew this but in college Robinson played in the 3-4 defensive scheme for three years, be played bothinside and outside positions. So, maybe Footy is onto pmething with Robinson possibly playing OLB. It seems to me, in the future if Robinson can't become a starter for whatever reason, he will be like Lorenzo Alexander.
Shanahan said in his press conference after the draft that Robinson will learn both the inside linebacker position. He could one day take over for London Fletcher at Ilb, but Right now they are going to use him like Zo it seems. In college he also played special teams and they love his quickness. Damn, sounds like Zo 2.0. I didn't know this but his 4.8 40 time at the combine was amongst the fastest at Ilb.
| Quote: | shanahan said: "He is a guy who could play both," he said. "He's just a quality young man and we just liked the way he practices and how he handled himself. We liked his speed and we think he can fit in well."
"I feel like I’m one of the top coverage linebackers out there," he said. "I can cover tight ends. I can cover backs. I can do it all."
He continued: "I think that covering guys like [Dallas Cowboys tight end] Jason Witten and things like that will be a great chance, and I think I’ll be ready for it." |

Do you guys have a list of all the players at the rookie camp this weekend?
I am talking draft picks, udfa, try outs, and vets.
The only teams that I have seen post a complete list was the Jags and the Bucs. _________________

The Only similarity they have is that they will both be playing LB. ZO 2.0? Seriously? He sounds nothing at all like ZO 2.0. He played ILB and OLB in college and in the 3-4 he translates to an ILB. Shanahan already said that he will be an ILB. They are not making a stretch there by any means whatsoever. It is a natural position for him, unlike ZO.
ZO on the other hand was an interior DL in college. 300 lbs. He has cut to what 275? 265? Two totally different players. Robinson is fast and will be a more natural ILB. Zo is someone who probably will never be more than a hard-working backup. And never will be good in coverage like Robinson should be. I don't see any comparison at all unless you mean that they are both going to play a LBer position. _________________

Was it just me or did RG3 look scary Skinny? I'm so excited to see him play, but man I'm glad we invested in the Oline in the draft... _________________

I'm not the only person who's said he will play multiple LB positions but mostly focus on Ilb and he will be a special teams.
Who does that description sound like?
I never said he was a ZO clone like body size. _________________

#Redskins HC Shanahan on QB @RGIII: "He's the starter, period."
Is Shanahan actually declaring RGIII the starter already? _________________

Is Shanahan actually declaring RGIII the starter already? | Maybe but who knows. Hard to tell right now IMO. I'd be great if he was the opening day starter. _________________

And U KNOW it!! I really don't see how he doesn't outplay Grossman in camps, etc. to be honest.
Shanahan has Always adapted his Offenses to the talent (or lack of) he had. Did it with Young, Elway, Plummer, Cutler, Griese. I don't see why he won't this time and he has already said he will. Shanahan is as excited as we are to see this kid play- you better believe it!
Thing is now he has another QB where the Physical potential is unlimited, so once the Mental aspects are grasped he can really open it up (Finally!) This is why I'm so excited!!! I would expect a scaled down playbook to begin but new wrinkles every week! _________________

Since its Grossman, that shouldn't be too long.
If Griffin is ready though, he should start and I hope he does. _________________
