Its kind of hard to figure out give the guys we brought in and the questions we have about them |
O-line depth is about the only thing I'm 100% sure is still going to be a need next season.
CB, DE, WR, QB, LB all *could* be pressing needs if things go poorly with some of the moves we've made.
RB could also be a need. I don't like to think about it, but Mojo has been taking a beating the last 3 years. I don't think it would be a huge shock if that started to takes it toll on him.

I just listed every position I could think of...LB/CB shouldn't be needs, with Ross and Marshall signings. _________________

CB will still be a need.
Ross isnt guarnteed. Im personally not impressed with him, I think he will be solid as a #2 corner at best. Mathis is old
Cox needs to stay healthy. _________________

We have a winner.
Gene had a nice line in one of his draft pressers about this. Talent is always your greatest need. _________________

Yup and Harris will play the slot...It isn't as big of a need as everyone thinks. _________________

I don't see how you can ignore the possibility of Cox, Mathis, and Middleton leaving. CB could be a huge need next year.
Same with LB. There's no way I can see Marshall being able.to step in and fill the void that'd be left if Smith leaves. _________________

I think CB is are biggest need IMO
Smiths shoes are going to be tough to fill. I dont think Marshall will be able to do so, even though I do think Marshall will be solid.
I wouldnt care if we drafted a LB in the 1st next year. _________________

Play 1: against Rueben Randle, quickly recognizes runs, beats receiver block, makes tackle
Play 2: recognizes run and forces the RB out of bounds
Play 3: blitz, makes tackle on the RB
Play 4: quick recognition of where the ball is going, goes to the ball, forces the fumble and recovers
Play 5: recognizes run, whiffs on the tackle
Play 6: press coverage, able to the jam the WR and prevent the completion
Play 7: versus Randle, recognizes slant and quickly reacts, makes the tackle
Play 8: blitz, doesn't get to the QB so he jumps, ball gets completed
Play 9: recognizes the screen to the RB and makes the tackle
Play 10: versus Randle and breaks up the pass (ball was tipped on the way there)
Play 11: blitz, can't get to the QB, QB sacked
Play 12: intercepts a bad pass by the QB, good recognition
Play 13: helps make the tackle in the running game
Thoughts: Banks is a really good run defender. He recognizes plays quickly and reacts well to where the ball is. I like his aggressive style of play. He is a smart player and really seemed to understand what he should be doing. He is solid in coverage also. He was used often as a blitzer and could improve in that aspect.
I really liked what Banks showed against LSU. He is athletic and has a decent potential, but has a high floor. I'm not going to rank him above Amerson because of potential and athleticism, but I really liked what I saw. _________________
