The quotes are insider stuff so I'll only post a tiny bit I found it very interesting and it corroborates my thoughts prior to the draft and supports an argument I had in the NFL Draft forum

The Browns brain-trust believes the ball explodes off the hand Weeden better than any QB in the draft.

In evaluations, Weeden compared favorably to Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, when measuring time, velocity and accuracy on identical throws.

TheOBR has learned, the Browns believe Weeden would have challenged Luck and Griffin III if all things (age) were equal.

Contrary to some belief the Browns settled for RT Mitchell Schwartz, theOBR has learned Schwartz was rated higher by the Browns at RT than any other player (Reiff nearly equal).

That evaluation includes Matt Kalil, who the Browns projected as a better LT than Schwartz, but lesser quality at RT.

Good points.

On Schwartz - The film on the kid is beautiful. Hes a force in the run game and a good pass blocker. I think hes a pro bowler. Him being a better RT than Kalil isn't a shocker. Kalil is your blindside guy, with the quickness to keep any pass rusher in front of him. Hes not the guy you want paving the way against the LE and OLBs on runs. Someone (Candy I believe) brought up some interesting points pre draft about how he got switched to the left side after struggling on the right in college.

Weeden - I don't think theres a chance in hell he would challenge Luck but RG3 I could see. I think Weeden and Tannehill threw the best sideline balls in the draft, and Weeden and Luck utilize the middle of the field the best. RG3 has the best deep ball. Weeden might be the best in the class at throwing receivers open.

funny, i remember being called crazy for saying that its possible that Kalil wouldn't be so good at RT.

wrong, he didnt get switched to LT cause he couldnt play RT. He was the back up RT his RS Freshmen year and there was senior who was a 2year starter starting at LT. Kalil didnt play because he actually had better talent infront of him at the time. He backed up a future first rd pick at RT in Tyron Smith.

Kalil's RS sophomore year. Kalil and Tyron Smith competed for the starting LT spot but Kahlil beat him out for it so Tyron Smith stayed at RT. So actually if Tyron Smith, would of beat out Kahil for LT, Kalil would of been the starting RT

As do I, even though I said as a LT Kalil was my favorite prospect since Joe Thomas.

Is this some sort of factual proof you were right?

As a side note, how exactly does the OBR learn how the Browns rated players? Did Heckert show him his board, or simply tell them? Was this before or after they selected Schwartz?

I believe they liked Schwartz better at RT about as much as I think they believe Weeden and Luck are comparable.

Sounds good for the guys in brown and orange though. Laughing

It is pretty logical for anyone that knows anything about the Browns scheme. There's no way in hell they would draft a 295 lb RT Confused

They learn this stuff by asking their sources within the organization off the record.

Who said they would? All anyone ever said is that the best tackle prospect in the draft had the ability to play RT.

As far as the 295lbs, which is a bit light based off his pre draft measurements, what exactly does an extra 10-15lbs of assfat help? Does a fat stomach make a guy a better lineman? If Matt Kalil bulked up by adding 20lbs of jiggly mess to his thighs, is he a better athlete?

Name one elite LT in the history of the game and tell me they couldn't play RT.

I'd love to know who these sources are. When LBJ was doing his whole mess in the summer of '10, 'sources close to the situation' ended up being guys who cleaned the crapper at the Q.

I'm not a subscriber at the OBR, so I'm not as familiar with them as pnies20 and a few others on here who subscribe. But I do know that they've been pretty plugged in, especially lately. Almost everything they said during the offseason so far has turned out to be true.

Also, in terms of Kalil at RT, it has mostly to do with run blocking, imo. If Kalil is elite at pass blocking on the left side (which I think he is), then he'll be great on the right side, as well. I'm assuming the comments stemmed from run blocking. Kalil is not a great run blocker, while Schwartz is considered one of the best run blocking tackles in the draft.

I personally may go into shock seeing a normal functioning offense, especially seeing a right side that doesn't collapse after 1.5 seconds.
And I am going to lose my voice the first time Richardson with his fresh legs truck all these old AFC N linebackers

And yet people think we panicked on Weeden and reached on Schwartz..
