He’ll play more like a young Big Ben. He’ll stretch the pocket and keep the play alive until the coverage breaks down or he’ll run for a first down. Most of his passes will be underneath to the RB and TE with a few long passes when the WRs get wide open. |
Thats all good, But Big Ben can make all the throws and has some accuracy. |
Not coming out of college.
Pryor should have been drafted this year? He's only 22 |

Barksdale was good in college but that won't predict how he will do in the NFL.
Then say...
Pryor's college career was crap so he will not do well in the NFL.
You can't have it both ways. Unless you are just trying to validate flawed logic. I just want an explanation as to how one is OK logic and the other is not. |
How many people suck in college and make it in the NFL? How many good players in colleg never play a snap in the NFL?. I use trends and % to make educated predictions. Like I said personally I think Barksdale can play but it is easier to so a good player wont be good in the NFL than a bad player being good in the NFL. |
I think people have to really define "suck".
27tds 11ints 2800 yards 780 yards rushing 4 tds.
Now...This was for a 21 year old Pryor...who by all accounts was getting horrible QB coaching at OSU. Buckeye fans are happy their "video coordinator/QB coach" is gone.
As far as Pryor.....He should have redshirted his first year in college. To understand why Pryor is soooooooooooooooo raw in his fundamentals you have to understand that Pryor was not a QB until a couple years ago. Not a real one anyway. He was a basketball player that was committed to Pittsburgh as a Sophomore in HS. He joined the football team and they basically just told him to go beat everybody with your athletic ability. That led him to be the number one recruit in the country.

Terrelle Pryor is best HS athlete I ever saw in person but can't think of many who had great success after questioning passion for the game.
|
He went to OSU were he SHOULD have been redshirted. Guy wasnt ready...he perform solid. Almost as good as freshman RG3. HOwever, still not ready. So discount his freshman year and assume he's a RS FR the next year. Almost 2100 yards passing 18 tds/11ints and almost 800 yards rushing 6/7 tds. Would be pretty good for a RS Freshman. And in his JR year and think of it as his RS SO year....pretty good numbers. Actually comparable to Luck's and RG3's (Not saying he's as good...He's not and probably will never be that good, just using it for example)
People have to realize Pryor was hampered by poor coaching at OSU. Even Heisman winner Troy Smith said he had to relearn everything once getting to the NFL. What Pryor did with "close to the vest Tress" was very good to be honest.
Also when you look at the RG3's, Cam Newton, and Vince Young.....They all had that 4th year in college. Pryor never got that year so we never really know what his career would have been like if he didnt get in trouble. He may have been primed for a big year. Look at RG3, Todd McShay viewed him as a WR before the year. So you never know a person's development.
As far as the NFL...Pryor IS a raw prospect that needs a lot of work and time. The best thing for Pryor.....is Palmer. To show him the way and so that he never sees the field his first couple of years. So if Pryor ever improves his fundamentals....(not saying he will, but he'll work at) then the Raiders MIGHT have a steal. We'll have to see how it plays out. But this former top baskeball player is finally getting coaching. We'll see how he adapts the next couple of years and who knows...Might have something here. |
