All you need to know is two things:
1. ACC is a basketball conference and FSU is a football school.
2. Money>>>Logistics
The logistics aren't much worse than what they already have to endure in the ACC. Collectively there's about an extra 300 miles of travel distance between the Big 12 schools and the current ACC schools. For a 30-40% increase in profit this move seems like a no brainer imo.

I'll be thrilled if it happens...
Holla at Clemson, L'Ville and VT and let call it a day.
The ACC dislikes FSU, just look at this:

Something to keep in mind is that FSU's athletic department is $2.4 million in the red and they just cut (IIRC) around $60 mill in academic spending, so suffice it say money is an issue right now.

If its about money, then they'll be staying in the ACC. The ACC raised its buyout to $20 Million.

I really dont know who designed this TV deal, but by all accounts the ACC got screwed.

Yea,it's laughable that the ACC deal divides up schools football revenue equally, but allows schools to keep their basketball revenue. That's just a huge slap in the face to the likes of FSU, VTech and Clemson. I know Texas can be a pain in the [inappropriate/removed] to deal with, but we've never been accused of eating off someone else's plate, which is exactly the Tabacco Roads seem intent on doing.

Louisville doesn't do much for me, unless the Big 12 goes to 16. I'd be all over the other two, although I think VTech would be more likely to end up in the SEC in the likely event the ACC dissolves. GTech or Miami would be more likely.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. It'd be weird to see FSU in the Big XII, but hey, maybe they can actually go back to 12 teams so I don't have to explain to my girlfriend why the Big 10 has 12 teams and the Big XII has 10.

Why do you say this is likely?

Although the question then becomes, why do you think the ACC will dissolve? The Big East somehow survived in some very twisted form after all the changes

While it would create a "Big 4", I don't think this guarantees any preference towards just those 4 making the playoffs.

With the ACC's new TV deal they are clearly favoring "basketball schools" ie Duke & UNC. Thus making it very easy for schools like FSU, Miami, VT, Clemson, and GT to wanna look in other directions being "football schools".

I wouldn't say the BE has yet survived either. There is still clear indications the expansion is not done. I think the possibility of the ACC and BE combining after a while is a great possibility.

No but it will make a lot more money for the conference.

I keep hearing L'Ville come up in rumors to the B12. I think if the B12 expands the should just go straight to 16, set the precedent, and get whoever they choose.

The new ACC deal is laughably bad and is practically asking the football oriented schools to leave. Assuming FSU's desire to leave is real, and they do end up in the Big 12, it'll cause a dominoe effect and Clemson (who's been looking at leaving for months as well), Miami, VTech and the likes will do what's in their best interest and look for a new home as well.

The ACC would likely pick up whatever scraps are left of the Big East and form a juggernaunt of a basketball conference.
