I still think Royster comes out to be their 2nd most productive back, I liked what I saw in him late in the season

Who'd be #1?

Roy Helu.

One of the more important re-signings of the off-season for the Redskins as it gives them a veteran presence in the backfield for pass blocking and ensures that Roy Helu stays fresh.

Hope he is healthy by the time the season starts.

I think its a good move. Yea, they have a ton of RBs but he played well for them last year

Not actually. Other than Roy Helu (change of pace and receiving back) and Evan Royster (solid 3rd string), there really isn't anything else. Alfred Morris (6th) might turn out to be a player but that remains to be seen. Otherwise, it's a whole bunch of young guys that they brought in to compete for a potential 4th spot or a PS spot.

*Bitter fantasy player here*

I think it ensures Helu gets 15 carries one game, 2 the next. And whatever scrub is the 4th back will occasionally get 20.

That's all. Sorry for the attitude. Laughing

This shouldn't surprise you though. If Shanahan finds a hot hand he rides it till it loses once then tries an entirely different hand, recycle, reuse, rinse, repeat, yada yada yada. This goes all the way back to him in both Denver and Oakland and the exceptions were really only when he had a bonafide stud in Terrell Davis and, briefly, Clinton Portis (though even Portis fell victim to Shanny's flights of fancy on occasion during his time in Denver).

It's why banking on a RB for whatever team Shanahan is coaching is such a gamble. Yes, if the pick (on the player) hits in the form of a new stud, the boom and return is going to be HUGE (fantasy wise). But the risk is also monumental in that you're in no way going to get week-to-week consistency (which is far more valuable in fantasy than the occasionally massive single-week production surrounded by stretches of barely-mediocre) until the guy has established himself AND cemented into Shanny's good graces for more than a single season (lest we forget the single-year wonders that were Mike Bell, Reuben Droughns, Travis Henry for a spell, heck even Tatum Bell was a viable fantasy contributor under Shanny at one point... and Tatum Bell is awful).
