He might not miss a lot of regular season games if he takes rehab serious

yeah, i just hope our replacement DTs play well so we dont bring him back to soon and he can take his time. I rather lose him for a season than to see him seriosuly mess up his chest and lose him a couple years early to retirement

Amen

As much as this sucks [inappropriate/removed], and it does, we know we weren't contending for anything this year anyway. Take your time, rehab fully, come back healthy in 13'

saying it will take Phil at least 6months for full recovery. I say we shut him down. place him on the IR, free up the roster spot and let Uncle Phil take his time with his chest so he is ready for 2013

If it takes 6 months thats half the season. No reason to shut him down. Put him on the PUP list and leave him inactive 2 or 3 more games.

OBR is reporting he's done for the year.

This is a huge blow to try and make our run defense respectable. I think the right thing to do is just put him on IR and shut him down for the year, no point in trying to rush him back if (and this is a big if) they are in playoff contention and he gets hurt worst.

I hope he comes back healthy and he doesn't have the same thing happen like Jackson when he tears the other side the next year.

Big man is only 24. Like I said if he takes rehab serious he could be out there. Just be glad it's in May and not the middle of summer.

Why am I still reading supposedly fresh reports about how long it will take Taylor to returns depends on whether it was a severe/complete tear?

Now that the surgery has been performed, hasn't that condition become a "known"?

Heckert expects DT Phil Taylor (torn pec) to be able to play by late Oct/early Nov. "He'll definitely be back. No question about that."
