Both have tons of upside, at this current point, I'd take Jones. If Mingo bulks up this year and shows pretty technique, I could change my mind in the future. At the current point, both are great athletes but Jones is more polished. _________________

I'd be willing to put a lot on that Kee Kee Mingo plays up to his potential and blows the roof of it. Mingo's potential is scary. _________________

I have never seen a pass rusher with a better combination of overall speed (closing speed & top speed), length, flexibility, and an arsenal of moves than Mingo. He's gonna be a freak of nature in the NFL. There is no one like him in the league right now. JPP or Aldon Smith are probably the closest but even still he's more athletic and faster than both of them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Mingo ran in the 4.4's at the Combine. _________________

What you are missing is weight. Mingo needs to add another 30ish lbs. to be in JPP's range. Also I agree that Montgomery is better than Mingo atm. If Mingo can bulk up and work on his hands, he could surpass Montgomery.
As for this thread. Give me Jones... _________________

I haven't seen nearly enough of either of these players to make a fair judgement, but based on the limited amount of time that I saw these two guys, I'm gonna have to lean towards Jones, for now; he seems like the more complete player.
Lately, I've seen a lot of people on here raving about Mingo's pass rushing ability and even going as far as saying that he is the best pass rusher to come out of college since Mario Williams was the first overall pick back in '06. While that is a pretty drastic statement, I know I will have a close eye on Mingo. _________________

Mingo is the big conference version of DeMarcus Ware. He's tall, LONG, quick and very explosive. He's just overall one HELL of an athlete. He's about 240 right now, if he can get up another 10 by the time the draft comes around and then probably another 5-10 in the NFL, he's right in that 6'4" or 6'5" 255-260 range, which is ideal for a pass rusher. Athletically, he's very similar to Von Miller IMO.
Jones is a very good player, and is much more refined than Kiki, but he's not near the athlete Kiki is. After i was arguing with jrry in the other thread on pass rushers 11/12/13, I really dont see a special talent in Jones. He's going to be a very good pass rusher, and a great all around LB, but i just dont see that elite level to him. I see him as very similar to Shaun Phillips but a better pass rusher. He's probably right around a 10 sack guy consistently. I just dont see the frame on him to put another 20 lbs on him and have him play DE in a 43, and i just done see the coverage skills for him to play OLB in a 43. He's ONLY a 3-4 ROLB (or SOLB or whatever you wanna call it, the "Rush" LB in a 3-4 over the LT, not on the right side). Very consitand player, but will never be that elite guy in the NFL, that i think Mingo will be. _________________

Mingo plays bigger than his size. If he can get up to 255 he'll be golden.
EDIT: in the 3-4 that is _________________

I really don't get the Jones hype. He's not particularly explosive, and he plays similarly to Mingo except Mingo is more athletic.
Mingo reminds me of Clay Matthews. I'd take him every day. _________________

So did Michael Johnson. Mingo is in that category where his athleticism is off the charts but I'm un-sure if it will translate at the next level to Kearse or MJ93. His upside is sick, but I personally just need to see more from a 240 lbs. pass rusher, which he is atm.
I do like Mingo more than Michael Johnson, but I'm not ready to compare him to The Freak yet. You've obviously seen more of him than I have though... _________________
