Never said motivation was not important, however did you see anyone on our team that was motivated when they shut it down. That is my point, so to blame Blount for being unmotivated but ignoring the fact everyone else was as well is ignorant. |
I already responded to this.
| YoungBucs15 wrote: | | And so you know i didn't miss a single game last year, I would say Blount was part of the passing downs more frequently during the beginning of the year and it tapered off as the season took a dive. I never even said that he was a decent blocker. My entire point of this is that we all took Rah's and Olson's word that he wasn't a three down back. Did you see any of the other decisions they made. I want to hear from Schiano and the current coaching staff of their assessment of Blount, that it is all. |
Oh, they drafted a RB in round 1. Then another late round guy with potential. I think that's assessment enough. I get what you're saying about last year's staff, but they needed a star more than anything, and still didn't use Blount in that fashion.
| YoungBucs15 wrote: | | I'm not trying to sit here and say that Blount is the greatest of all time and we need to get rid of Martin, i'm not even Blount's biggest fan, hated the man in college. I'm a huge USC fan so don't get that twisted. |
Don't get criticism twisted, I really like Blount myself. But that doesn't make him a solid starting RB or someone that's intelligent when talking to the media.
| YoungBucs15 wrote: | | Are you saying there's no NFL player that says dumb things to the media?!? He must be the only one. Good logic with the undrafted correlation, undrafted=bad decisions. Guess our team favorite Leonard Johnson is full of bad decisions. We should save ourselves the time and get rid of him. |
It was a pretty direct jab at Blount being undrafted because he made a bad decision, it has nothing to do with any other undrafted players. I really don't know how you got that this statement applied to other players.
Of course there are other players who say dumb things, but I'd say Blount's been one of the worst in the past few months, first saying he more or less wouldn't be happy with competition and now saying he might want to actually work.
| YoungBucs15 wrote: | | And please don't ever say i don't watch a single game, you come off a little ignorant, just a little. |
It was an honest question given your defense of the guy. I wasn't trying to insult you but if you watched the season you watched him block. Or get in the way, more like. _________________

Im really excited to see our secondary this year. Actually I am looking foward to seeing Barber and Barron at safety. I think they both are going to have very good seasons. Barber is very smart and crafty. Barron is also a very smart player. I think they will help each other also. One could free lance while the other covers up. Kind of like Pittsburgh. Clark covers up for Polamalu so he can go make a play
Plus its looking like Talib will be on the field this year. Barron, Barber, and Talib should be fun to watch. _________________

The only thing that worries me with Barber at safety is he's got to make more tackles. The past 2 seasons, I've seen him miss more tackles than he's ever had in his career. The fact that he's getting up there in age, his instincts are still very good, extremely good, but that is the only thing that is worry-some. |

I'm hoping that we will see improved play from our defensive line, our linebackers and from our other Safety, Barron, so that hopefully he will not be forced into having to make as many tackles as before.
I know....that's a lot of hoping. My biggest concerns are the RCB and the Sam positions on defense, and the RT on offense. I feel that those are the weak links as of right now, maybe more FA's will be signed before game #1. |

It's totally possible to see that happen if McCoy stays healthy, IMO. It all starts with him and I think we'll have improved everywhere else regardless of McCoy. If he stays healthy our defense will be a lot better.
A lot better than historically bad doesn't mean much, but a lot better regardless. _________________

I agree it all starts with McCoy. He needs to stay healthy. With this new coaching staff, I can see him start using better technique and having a dominant season.
Im hoping Clayborn improves his sack number. Also hoping to see him get better against the run.
Im really looking foward to watching Barber and Barron. I think they bothare going to have good seasons.
The linebackers are what concerns me. Im hoping Foster steps up withbetter coaching. I hope David continues to make plays and doesn't turn into another Geno Hayes. Will Black finally have his break out season or does he prove that he was a waste of money?
This season needs to hurry up. _________________

Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams are the starters, as expected. Preston Parker and Sammie Stroughter are running with the second team. Benn isn't going to have a major role in the Bucs offense this season. Dynasty owners faced with a roster crunch should think about cutting ties with the 2010 second-rounder. |

Ugh, that sucks. A 2nd round pick in his 3rd year should never be on the third-team offense, OTAs or not.
I never liked the pick, but I still had hope for him. It's still early on in the offseason but this is not encouraging at all. _________________

Yes, not really close though if they had the choice of either Marshall or Winslow. Not sure what the price was, probably a 4th or later round pick. _________________
