I don't know who I want to win. OKC for the LeBron vs. Durant / Westbrook vs. Wade matchups in the finals.

Or the Spurs long time big three vs. Miami's newer big three.
I'd actually prefer to see the Spurs vs. the Celtics. I think that would be a fantastic series.

I have the Thunder in 7. The Spurs are so fundamentally sound with a good mix of young and vets, but I think the "vets" of the Thunder(who are all around 23) will wear down the Spurs vets. They should go ahead and hand out the NBA Championship trophy to the winner of this series. They are the 2 best teams in the NBA right now.

If the Heat make it out of the East without Bosh, which they will, I would still have them as the favorites.

Spurs in 6. Seems to be the consensus around here anyways. I don't like that we're favored by most. ESPN acts like we're the only team that plays "team ball". But despite how I feel (and how I know Pop feels) about the media attention, this should be a fun series.

I got OKC in this.

Two completely opposite teams. OKC's roster is 100x better, but they don't play team ball. I think the Spurs lack of talent catches up with them here.

I honestly hope they do win, but I think OKC just out-talents them. Also, Perkins and Ibaka are going to eat Duncan alive.
You will never acknowledge that talent does in fact exist on our roster *gasp*. Its no use even trying to persuade you. Laughing

Thunder in 6. We match up so well with them.

We will come out and win game 1. We've had a tougher road to this point, and we are a much tougher team than what they've had to face. I think we have a better team than they do as well. They have the better coach and homecourt advantadge.
Meh. What does the road traveled have anything to do with this series? Our big 3 have seen far more than Durant/Westbrook/Harden at this point in their careers; they've taken much tougher paths to championships before. And I don't think we're at a disadvantage match up wise. LIS, I wanted the Thunder over the Lakers because we match up better with y'all. The Lakers bigs can score and dominate the front line. The Thunder are a bit too reliant on their jump shot imo.

I don't understand this logic. Just because we haven't been tested in this year's playoffs means that we're going to crumple under the pressure? Also, that we've played too well? Regression back to the mean and all of that stuff, perhaps? Our mean is what you've seen. And we certainly haven't peaked yet. One thing I'm interested in going forward is Manu's play. He has not even been close to firing on all cylinders, and while I've seen glimpses, that's just it - glimpses. SJax has been terrible this postseason too, slow. He's going to need to step up.

LMAO, he made it sound like Bonner was an unstoppable force, Kobe/LeBron/Wade wrapped into one.
Laughing Laughing Laughing

How much does he even play?

I guess he could be key in taking Ibaka away from the basket.
You're exactly correct. That's something I'm interested to see. I think Pop might use Bonner to pull Ibaka out of the paint. That would make life much easier on Timmy and Parker. The problem is, he's always been a choker in the playoffs. This year hasn't been so bad but mostly because we actually have some legit bigs to take minutes away from him (Splitter, Diaw). Another thing that should be interesting is Perkins and his 60% FT rate. Perhaps Hack a Perk may be utilized to slow momentum down at times during the series.

Random Thoughts:

Its going to be fun to see Kawhi Leonard battle Durant. I think there's going to be a lot of struggles (of course, its Kevin Durant), but Kawhi has shown to be a true pro throughout his rookie season.

OKC is the only team in the league to have 3 players in the top ten of FTA. Durant's 3rd, Westbrook 7th and Harden 10th. Hopefully, the refs don't throw too much BS our way. Show us some love, eh?

I know regular season means nothing but its a good sign nonetheless. We beat them twice in three meetings, and all three meetings came before acquiring Diaw and Jackson. Manu was out all three games with injury. And Parker didn't play through all three games due to injury.

The Spurs cannot commit turnovers. We cannot be sloppy with the ball or else the Thunder will have easy transition points and that's just a recipe for failure.

Manu, SJax, Neal and Bonner have got to step it up. Nothing up to this point matters. Outside of the media, no one cares about the streak. This year will mean nothing without the trophy in hand. The Drive for Five starts now. Cool

I still gotta stick with the Thunder. Although I do genuinely believe San Antonio is a top 2 team.

Durant may get some star calls, but he's certainly not on Kobe's level. Harden and Westbrook earn EVERY foul call they get. Neither gets any sort of star treatment. Westbrook's free throw attempts would have literally doubled if he was getting Kobe calls in a couple of the games against the Lakers.

What do you guys think is the biggest matchup in this series?

I'm going with Harden vs. Ginobili off the bench.

Whichever one of those guys has the better series, his team will win in my opinion.

The key player in this series is going to be Russell Westbrook. The guy can be such trash at times, yet so great at other times. His play will determine this series. When he's on, nobody can stop him. When he's having a bad shooting night (his classic 5/24's) he constantly keeps shooting and that really helps the other team.

For this series, I'm going to say Westbrook has more bad games than great games.

Just an awesome read. Makes you truly appreciate Duncan.
