From the Homework Thread. Will do favors for help.

Giving this thread a nice little bump...

OK probability question:

"If a true/false quiz has five questions, how many ways can you get a score of at least 80%?"

The "at least" part is what's troubling me.

Thanks.

I'm no smarty pants, so I'm not sure if I should even be answering this at all, but here goes.

Anything worse than 4/5 would be a score below 80%, so I'm guessing the answer would be two ways only (4/5 and 5/5).

This. Unless they mean combinations of True and False... which would suck.

6 ways.

100% there's only 1 way

80% there are 5 ways.

I don't remember the official way to do it but when I figured out combinations for any other amount correct it came out like this.

5 = 1 way
4 = 5 ways
3 = 10 ways
2 = 10 ways
1 = 5 ways
0 = 1 way

I forgot the even the easy stuff from AP Stat Laughing

Looked it up.

n = the number of objects to choose from (Questions)
k = the number of objects selected (Correct Answers)

I had the worst professor for Stat in college so I don't remember a thing either. I think there is an equation for questions like these.

Edit: see equation in post above mine.

I slept everyday in AP Stat since it was the last class of the day in senior year, the teacher was one of those who was a complete pushover, "Can we take a group test?" Wellllllll ok....... Can you push the due date back a week, and can we make it a group project?" I suppose. Still hand in things half done and she'd take pitty and give you a B- or so.

Got a C in that class.

Gosh bless you McMc. I took Stat in high school but don't remember squat. Def cheating my way through this online class.

Anyways, after AI's appearance at the Sixers game last night, I thought of an interesting question: Which Philly athlete has/had the most swag?

I'm torn between AI and Desean.

I wasn't the biggest AI fan back in the day, but I give him props for his sick crossover and uncanny ability to score the rock.

This was my favorite highlight of his:
