FWIW Weeden has smoked McCoy so far in OTAs. I know it's just OTAs but if he is much better than McCoy I'll be happy.

According to Schudel: Weeden tests downfield much more than McCoy, has picked up the offense faster, and has been deadly accurate.

Blaine Gabbert looked "deadly accurate" in practice too.

Us Browns fans are used to hearing about how Colt McCoy and Brady Quinn looked god awful in OTAs and rookie minicamps. Dont rain on our parade.

It's true. Our QBs have been so bad we haven't even had one that was good in OTAs. It HAS to be an improvement Laughing

It's true! I had to remember the Notorious Derek to think of a single Browns QB during the mid-decade after Couch. Of course, that helped bring back unwanted memories of Charlie Frye. EEEEEEeeeeeewwwwwww

I'm sorry. I don't like it. I wish you guys could have had Tannehill fall to #22. I don't want the Browns to fail, they deserve some success for the sake of their fans. As a Rams fan, I definitely understand what you're going through. I just don't like Weeden. Didn't like him before the draft. JMO.

I'm glad we didn't have a chance at him, I feel Tannehill will be a hard core bust. It had nothing to do with him goin to Miami

Disagree but just my opinion. Regardless, is taking Weeden really any better?

It's not

I am not a fan of either. I will give Weeden a chance though.

you can teach him not to stare targets down. you can't teach arm strength and accuracy.

Tebow beat Matt Stafford and Sam Bradford in college. Means nothing.

I didn't see great accuracy. I also saw a QB from a gimmicky offense that didn't read coverage well, struggled with his pocket presence and didn't go through progressions.

I see a bust.

I see an uninformed poster. the guy threw into tight windows and made ALL the NFL throws. You say he stared down targets, I say so that is correctable and coachable flaw.

Ah...so are you looking at yourself? Because you're certainly not looking at me. I have no doubt that I'm MUCH more informed than you are.

Threw into tight windows? Laughing

Way to throw away your logic and just get defensive. Weeded made some great throws in college and has the arm strength to don't in the NFL, is that too much to admit? I don't think he's anything special either, but I'm not gonna say he's a bust right now because when you have the skill sets that he has these always a chance that the players can be successful.

Well, when a person insults me, I'm generally going to respond in an a-holeish manner.

As for your question, I never said any differently. But having a great arm and making some great throws doesn't do it for me. I could give you a long and detailed break-down of Weeden. Looking at his overall skill-set and his age, I don't think he's going to succeed in the NFL. That's why I said that I see a bust. That means I think he'll bust. He hasn't busted yet, obviously, and QBs are the hardest position to judge so I could be wrong. But looking at his college game, I just don't see a successful NFL player.

Weeden is a guy whos going to look great one play and than totally lost the next. He's a top 20 QB in the NFL at best in my opinion.

Thank you, it means a lot that I still amaze you. Cool

I normally enjoy your insight and think you are a great poster for the most part.

But please stop acting like all high and mighty when people challenge your ideas. It's extremely annoying, and makes you seem like a tool.

Thank you.

I have no issue with people challenging my opinions and am normally pretty receptive to criticism or willing to at least hear out your explanation.

However, when your response is not polite, I'm not so nice. I have no doubt that I am arrogant, I'm extremely confident in my opinion. But generally, if you're polite and respectful, I'll be polite and respectful. Occasionally, things will get heated in debates but that's the nature of debating.

Now, I have no doubt I could put things more gently when disagreeing with people but I am blunt(and a little sarcastic...which can be taken as condescending). Some people take my bluntness as a sign of disrespect and that's understandable but it's not meant that way and when you do have a discussion, you'll find that I am quite reasonable especially if you can present an intelligent and logical argument.

It's so sexy though...plus I had no idea if it was too big or not. Was too lazy to check. Will resize it when I get a chance. It's not like it's 1000 by 1000 lol.

Disheartening? Don't think that's the word you're looking for. Good. I am glad others can evaluate talent, would make things very boring here if they couldn't. Now then, as much as I love the attention, lets actually talk about Brandon Weeden.
