+1
We have an offense that can be a quick-strike, high scoring, and has the ability to extend drives with a great ground game. If everyone can stay healthy, we have a 1000 yards rusher, and 2 WRs who are capable of going over 1000 yards (not saying both will, but thats the kind of talent we have). _________________

It doesn't matter what side of the equation you are on. Injuries aside, if Pryor beats out Leinart straight up for the backup position it would be absolutely HUGE. There is no understating that, as Pryor is a HUGE underdog. Leinart has been in this playbook for a year. If a 5 year yet can't beat out what essentially is a rookie then it is very telling. I've seen Leinart play, he was "getting" it before the injury. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

Yup, 152 overall. Not sure how he could have been one of your favourite UDFA prospects, unless you projected him UDFA and rated him as that. _________________

Since this has turned into a semi Pryor thread
Here he is talking about Carson and other Raider related news.
Actually thanked Hue Jackson for bringing in Carson.
http://siriusxmsports.posterous.com/raiders-quarterback-terrelle-pryor-on-nfl-rad
So while people are getting upset about a young backup getting articles, etc. etc. Or using to the good articles on Pryor to bang on Carson.
These guys seem to be bonding well and Carson is proving great leadership in Pryor's football life.
I got news for you guys. Rich Gannon isnt walking through that door. Jim Plunkett isnt walking through that door. Kenny Stabler isnt walking through that door. And if they do they'll be old and gray.
THE NEGATIVITY IN THIS FORUM SUCKS!
lol jk. Its not bad at all. Just making a Rick Pitino reference. |

You misunderstood me.
I know he shouldn't have a chance of beating him but if Leinart is as bad as people on here say then they seem to believe that Pryor should be able to beat him and if he doesn't then does that mean he is bad too.
These same people are thinking that Pryor is almost starter material so if he can't beat Leinart then that means something. |

Here's the deal Lienart and Pryor could both look good in preseason, thats what all Raider fans should want. Lienart would get the #2 spot because of his experience and knowledge of the playbook, and thats ok. Pryor not winning the backup spot does not mean he sucks, that is the problem with the Pryor haters. Lets see what he can do in game situations, he is having his first full training camp and preaseason and by all accounts he is working hard and wants to be good. And one day if Pryor is lighting it up as our starting QB all you haters will be kissing his you know what. That's right I said it. _________________

Also, it doesn't make sense to give up on a guy who was considered a project coming in just because he doesn't beat out Leinart this preseason. Give him some time. _________________

I believe that I understand now.
He is not making an assessment of either player. Rather he simply identifying the flawed logic of anyone who is under the impression that Leinart is horrid and Pryor is a player rapidly on the rise. I believe Keleth is suggesting that if Leinart is that bad then Pryor should easily beat him out for the backup position and if he can't then a reassessment is required for either Leinart, who may be better than what his detractors have been saying he is, or Pryor, who may be more raw than his promoters are willing to admit. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |

| with the significant improvement (that I'm expecting) in the already reasonable OL play, Carson will excel. Don't be surprised if he leads the nfl in passing yardage this year |

Wow. That's a longshot IMO...
He will be better for sure. I think he will be a good starting caliber QB, but to be the leading passer...no way IMO.
We will be a run first team, while there are multiple teams with really pass happy playbooks...And there are some QB's on pass happy teams who are better then CP...While we have nice depth and potential at WR, we still lack the true #1WR...
Brees, Rogers, Brady, Stafford, a healthy Manning will be in front of him easily IMO, but tha yards are really not important to me.
Give me a middle of the pack yardage performance from CP with 10+ wins _________________ WIN LOSE OR TIE...RAIDER FAN 'TIL I DIE!! |

meh prob not
but no reason he can't be a top 10 QB in passing yards, touchdowns, % of completions , etc. has some nice weapons to work with and a run dmc. |

With DMAC healthy, Palmer doesn't need to throw for 4000+ yards. In fact, I don't want to see the offense play that way. I like balance and control. _________________
