Well, basic English showed you used my example of Jamal Charles to compare each players performances. So you did use a comparison.
All Im saying is that no RB on our team besides McGahee and Hillman even deserve to be on the roster over Moreno. I dont care if hes injury prone or not, it comes down to putting the best talent on the field and Knowshon is the better talent. If it comes down to Lance Ball or Knowshon Moreno, I take Knowshon 100 times out of 100. |
Well saying that the best talent needs to be on the field is obvious, but Knowshon can't get his 'talent' on the field. Because he is injury prone. So I don't know how you can just ignore that fact. I take Knowshon on Madden...but it is much less cut and dry in this situation. Ball has shown he can get on the field and play decent. Knowshon has shown he is a huge feline and that he is not nearly first round talent. |
I hate when people do that, that just shows complete ignorance. It doesn't matter anymore where he got drafted anymore. In this situation, it comes down to the best talent getting on the field, and 100 times out of 100, that's Knowshon Moreno.

FYI, I don't think Knowshon is particularly better than Fannin, Ball or Johnson. He's just had more time to prove himself as a below average back.
Moreno's contract number isn't prohibitive either way(we can keep him fairly cheaply or cut him without suffering a major cap hit) so its entirely up to him to beat out those guys in camp.

Knowshon is going to have to fight for a job here, something he didn't have to do last year or in the two years under Mac.
He's going to enter camp as the #3 RB, at best, behind McGahee and Hillman. As such he's going to have to demonstrate he can contribute in at least some way, shape or form on special teams, something I'm not sure his ego (and proclivity for getting hurt) can handle. Conversley Ball, Johnson and Fannin, among others, will gladly play on special teams to earn a roster spot. All three are also capable runners.
Put bluntly, I don't see Knowshon making this team.

I agree with AAA though, he will have to fight for his job. As will about 30% of the team too. I believe he will come out winning this battle much easier than most. In terms of pure talent, he takes the case.

I agree with this 100%. It will come down to special teams. Maybe he can return kickoffs? He is actaully a willing and capable blocker so that will work in his favor.

Well he has a career average of 4.1 yards and the only full season he played he had a 3.8 yard average without making it to 1000 yards. He has 5 lost fumbles and has 12 touchdowns in 36 games. His career long is 36 yards. And honestly, watching him in person does not make him look any better than his stats.
So you are clearly basing this "talent" off of his college career and draft position. Unless you are mixing Knowshon up with a running back who is actually good. Yet call me out for bringing up that he was a first round pick. You are just wrong dude.
I'm not saying any of our backs in the mix are anything special, but lets not act like Knowshon is "light years ahead."

True.
Even if he is ahead of the other guys, they will take into account his injury history. Others have mentioned the contract, which is no big deal. I think he makes it, but if he misses time again, he's gone. Simple as that.

Doubt it. Indecisive runner who doesn't hit holes when they're there and injury prone, doesn't sound at all like a kick returner to me.
