Quote:
Tom Coughlin has signed a two-year contract extension through the 2014 season with the New York Giants.

The 65-year-old Coughlin, who led the team to its second Super Bowl win under him in February, has coached the Giants since 2004. His contract was in its final year.

Of course, he deserves this contract!

Considering the fact that the last two times he's been said to be on the hot seat entering a season, the Giants ended up winning the Super Bowl [at our expense Mad ], I have to wonder if this kind of job secruity might not adversely affect his coaching.

I have to think that he'll retire after the 2014 season. He'll be pushing 70 by then.

Too bad for you guys Andy Reid doesn't have that extra gear for when his job is in danger.

Thanks for the reminder. I had almost forgotten until you brought that up.

So the Giants will beat the Pats in the SB in 2014? Sounds like easy money!

I dont think Cruz or Nicks will shoot themselves in the leg with a handgun midseason so I think the Giants will muddle through somehow Smile

That's a huge link.

But something about that link is... missing...

2 Super Bowls in the past 4 years. Certainly deserves it. Think he'll retire by the end of this deal.

Do you guys think he'll make it into the Hall of Fame? Two Super Bowl rings is pretty impressive for a single head coach...

You try being the head coach of an NFL team in New York and see how old you look in a few years.

They're overrated & not making the Playoffs next season.
8-8 or 9-7 best for Seattle. (& No Playoffs)
