vs. Cleveland.
Poor clock management and coaching killed us, and we literally came up a yard short. _________________

I don't like this. They're not little kids out there. The Saints should be able to play however they want. It's the job of the defense to stop them. _________________

Loss to the Titans. Panthers did not show up, even if they did I doubt the Titans would have allowed it. _________________

As Eagles fan, while the San Fran game was bad, the Bills game was the absolute nadir.
As a Vikings fan, it was the vision of the "future" up against the Saints, and failing against a horrid pass defense. At least in the early games, there was a sense of "We'll git 'em next time, Coach" feel. The Saints game was after Denver (mad), Atlanta (angry), Oakland (what the...), leading to a smoldering burning brimstone disgust after the Saints. |

I suppose I'm just of the assumption that there's a level of mutual respect that exists, especially between coaches, where you're not having your QB throw 35 times in a game that was well decided long before the game was over. It was running up the score simply to try and break records, simple and plain. But what do expect from the likes of Sean Peyton and Co. _________________

We had just come off the week where we absolutely embarrassed the Ravens and it looked like we had that one last stretch to get into the playoffs, and everything worked out the way we wanted it to to where we controlled our own destiny. And then the Lions game came along, Manusky put together the worst defensive scheme i've ever seen in my entire life, and the Lions just absolutely picked us appart. That game singlehandedly took us out of the playoffs... |
Definitely not. Fumbling an exchange in FG range >>>>>>> |
Didn't even cross my mind. I tried to block that one out of my memory as much as possible...and now you went an [inappropriate/removed] that all up.....

Too many to choose from for the Raiders but i'll list 3.
Loss in Week 2 to the Bills: We HAD that game and the defense screwed it up giving up an easy TD in the last few seconds of the game.
Loss to Detroit (I forgot which week): Another game our defense lost... late in the 4th quarter.
Week 17 against the Chargers: Denver ended up losing to KC, and the Raiders blew their chance to earn that playoff spot as the division winner. Once again the defense played man to man all game and Rivers tore the D a new one.
Basically, our defense lost every game for us that we needed to win or should've won late in the 4th quarter. _________________ (MLB)=A's, (NFL)=Raiders, (NBA)= Warriors

The second loss to the Ravens was much more heartbreaking, but the first loss was definitely the worst. The Ravens just stomped us and it got pretty embarrassing to watch. _________________

Losing the Super Bowl was obviously the most painful one but during the Regular season the one that crushed me was the week 2 loss to the Bills. It was so disheartening to see the team lose after being up by 21 at one point _________________

I'd have to say the loss to the Colts during the final stretch of the season; It was the 1st game without Wade Phillips on the sidelines, and the lack of a pass rush was apparent, as Dan Orslovsky - a former Texan - completely tore up the Texans D on the final drive of the game, which culminated on a short TD pass to Reggie Wayne in the final seconds of the game.
It showed me a few things:
1. The Texans were growing complacent with their status as AFC South champs. We could forgive the lackluster showing against the surging Panthers, however THIS loss had no business happening.
2. Wade Phillips was the catalyst of making the D run as well as it can. Reggie Herring is a tough hombre and a real firecracker, but he didn't "feel" the game as well as Phillips did, and didn't see the cracks in protection that Phillips saw. As long as Phillips wasn't calling the D, it was going to show in a lack of pass rushing.
3. Officials are REALLY not sure what they are doing. There was one play where JJ Watt was closing in on Dan-O, and Dan ducked his head, which lead to a helmet to helmet hit, initiated by the ducking motion Orslovsky made. Nonetheless...yellow laundry on the field, roughing the passer, 15 yards and an auto first down. One of the worst calls I had seen, just a lack of common sense on the call...
4. Kareem Jackson is going to be brutalized by any above average WR. No matter who he was covering, they were getting open. _________________

The Cincy game still hurts. Gabbert actually looked decent most of the game. We had a chance for a game winning drive. Gabbert checked to a play that was set up to take advantage of the coverage Cincy played but, Meester snapped the ball early. _________________
