Unless Perry is absolutely terrible in camp/preseason or So'oto plays out of his mind in camp/preseason I don't see Perry not being the starter. _________________

The only chance is if Perry gets injured, has nagging hammy, etc. _________________ "It's the same old Jay," Woodson told ESPN afterward. "We just need to be in position. Jay will throw us the ball." |

There's a fair chance someone starts ahead of Perry, but I'd say nearly zero chance that person is So'oto. Poppinga, an experienced veteran was the guy who started over CM3 who had missed a fair amount of camp.
So'oto was a UDFA just last year with very little real game experience. |

Poppinga was actually a somewhat decent starter though. Everyone else we have at OLB now is garbage. _________________

At that point wouldn't you figure that Perry is in fact better then garbage and would therefore be the runaway starter? So'oto has shown nothing that says he would be anything but a serious liability as a starter at this point. _________________

What? Since when does "Everyone else we have at OLB now is garbage" mean "Everyone else we have at OLB now is garbage besides So'oto"? I think he's just as incapable as everyone else we have there (besides Perry). _________________

jones>>>>>>>>>>>>>>so oto
so oto has about a negative 30% chance at taking the job from perry before the season starts |

If Jones can stay healthy, which is a big if, I see him pushing Perry. He showed some flashes at the end of last year despite limited snaps and has the athletic ability to make a difference in both facets of the game. _________________

IMO, that's Perry's gig to lose........and then some!
I'm not a huge Perry guy. But he is a good bit better football player than his competition. _________________

Perry has a clear lean in the pass rush dept, and IMO that is why he will see the majority of the snaps. Would not be shocked if Jones/Zombo etc see's some time in certain packages where we're looking for coverage. _________________

I would not expect to see Zombo in any type of coverage protection packages. Not hi strength in the least. _________________

No, but he has experience that might give him a lean over perry in certain situations. _________________

I just think that Jones is clearly way ahead of Zombo in all coverage/running packages. Not that he's elite, but he's certainly the best we have. I agree there may be some sort of split in the playing time between Perry and Jones though. _________________
