"There's a "good chance" the Vikings will work out free-agent LB Brian Banks on Friday, Frazier said. Banks, 26, was exonerated last month of a rape conviction for which he served five years in prison and another five years on monitored parole. He is participating in the Seattle Seahawks' minicamp on a tryout basis this week."

Saw this as well. I feel he might end up getting his shot with Seattle, where he was recently going through a tryout, simply because Pete Carroll had originally recruited him to USC before he was falsely imprisoned.

I honestly do not know a ton about him. I would be absolutely fine with giving him a shot through training camp, but he has been out of football for a very long time, and while he was a top recruit coming out of high school, that doesn't always transition to college level football, let alone the pro's.

no, he only worked out with Seattle and was invited to attend the last two days of their mini-camp. no one has signed him yet.

Linebacker Brian Banks, exonerated last month after five years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, will participate in the final two days of the Seahawks’ minicamp on a tryout basis. Before heading back to Seattle (where he had a workout last week), he worked out for the Chiefs, after the first day of the team’s mandatory camp. At least one other team continues to pursue Banks. Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Tuesday that Banks could be coming to town.

Frazier: “I know in talking to Rick and the scouting staff, that’s something we’ve talked about and there’s a good chance that he may be coming in.”

personally, i don't know what the fuss is about the guy. sure, he's got a good hard luck story, but he never even played college ball. is he better than Soloman Elimimian?

I dont see much practical use in bringing him in. Its a nice feel good story, but at the end of the day, he really wont add anything to any team and is likely a few years away from contributing. The difference between high school football and college is huge. the difference between college football and the pros is even bigger. to skip college completely puts him at a huge disadvantage. though didnt Antonio Gates not even play college football? I guess there are cases of a player not playing college ball and still making it in hte NFL. Banks to Seattle makes a lot of sense since Carrol originally recruiting him to USC, but id pass.

Also, the thread itself that was refered to is somewhat misleading. It states in the thread title that Banks is "officialy" going to the 'hawks, which even led me to believe at first that they had signed him.

That's what I thought. My mistake.

So, no one even cared to investigate the matter, so Brian Banks sat in jail to rot 5 years before that liar even came out? LOL I feel for him.

I'd give him a shot. Its not like we have anything set at MLB anyways.

According to the link, we changed our team name to the Lions:

• Brandon Fusco continued to work at right guard with the first-string offense. Geoff Schwartz worked with the twos. Stephen Burton again received the lion's share of first-team reps at flanker in Harvin's absence.

Laughing

(or perhaps it was meant in a different sense of the word. A "lion's share" could mean he spent a large amount of time, but I've never heard of anyone ever using those words in this kind of context...weirdo)

I'm 20. I am young, but this thread isn't about me.

What is a "Lion's share"? Did the author make a mistake by calling the Vikings the Lions, or is that an actual phrase?
