it's ed reed...his body needs rest more than repetition. We're talking about the best safety ever....not much to improve on. Just stay conditioned and keep the wear and tear off of the body
If he plays this year tho, i'm almost positive it's his last. It'd be hard for me top stomach missing out on the superbowl the way he did....sucks _________________

The only thing shocking is that he didn't tell anyone. Ed does this kind of junk every year -- very wishy washy about what he wants. _________________

Going to report you to ET for posting under the influence...
I think you are thinking about Ed Reed's neck not his back. If Reed played last year with the neck issues, it won't stop him from playing this year with it. But unlike Peyton if he hurts/tweaks it again, he's done... _________________

Not too concerned. Been this way for a while. Still has yet to affect his performance on the field. I personally think this has more to do with his contract demands than it does with him actually contemplating retirement.
Given his age and his lingering injuries, I can understand why he would want a contract, i.e. more for security than simply luxury. However, from the organization's perspective, given those aforementioned things, as well as the team's history of letting players finish out their contracts before re-signing them, and the fact that Reed is already the highest paid safety in the NFL this year, it just doesn't make sense for the Ravens to offer him a new contract at this point in time.
I expect to see Reed suit up prior to the start of the regular season. When that is exactly though? That's anyone's guess. _________________

He is a very interesting person though. A couple of weeks back, he said how he wasn't committed to football but then said he wasn't talking about retirement. Then said he wanted a long term contract. |
yeah he just wants more money _________________ ***WE RUN THE WEST!***

Reed's bipolar. I have no idea how it's never became known outside of the Ravens fan base, but he's been pulling these sorts of things forever. _________________

Fine. But get your rest on the sideline attending practice with your team while remaining a player on the team. Not don't show up. Sure he doesn't need to participate but unless he is going to retire or is going to hold out be a good teammate!!!

Or at least call the HC and say "Hey, I'm not coming". He didn't do that. That's what bothers me most. _________________

I don't blame you... I whole heartedly agree the older vets shouldn't have to be as involved in OTAs as the younger guys but just go hang out and be a part of the team.... and yeah tell someone what you plan on doing that way there doesn't look like there are issues between the team and player. _________________ Stay low boys.... keep those feet moving!

I almost wish he was an unrestricted free agent this year so he could have seen that no other team would give him the money he wants us to.
He contemplates retirement every year. But I'm confident he'll be itching to get on a football field come September. Not going to say this doesn't concern me at all. But it concerns me very little. _________________

This isn't the defensive mvp Ed Reed we're talking about anymore. I noticed no drop off in the Ravens defense last year when they were absent Reed. He isn't worth the money he is getting paid anymore and if he wants to retire the Ravens will be just fine without him. _________________

Considering Ed Reed started every game for the Ravens last season, I can see why you noticed no drop off. He wasn't the same during the season, but he was phenomenal in the playoffs... _________________
