Well we are in the middle of June and not much going on, so here is some food for thought. Dwayne Bowe and the Chiefs are currently in contract disputes as everyone knows. Recently Percy Harvin requested a trade from Minnesota and is clearly unhappy with his contract. In my opinion, Dwayne Bowe is a better receiver than Harvin. If the Chiefs and Bowe agreed to a sign and trade to Minnesota for Harvin and say a 4th round pick, would you take it? I have no idea if this is plausible, but just something to chew on! Thoughts...

Drugs, are you on them?

But in all seriousness, no. Harvin is a specialist, Bowe is a #1. That 4th rounder doesn't make much sense. Basically that's trading 1 year of Bowe for 2 years of Harvin and a 4th rounder. To me, that's slanted in the wrong favor.

Harvin could be a #1 if he worked on his route-running/attitude, and I know Daboll would love to have him, but id rather keep Bowe.

He's a great talent, but unless he becomes Steve Smith all of a sudden, his body size is going to limit the amount of touches you want to give the guy.

I'd love to have Harvin on the team, but gimme D-Bowe all day, every day if I have a choice - even before considering Harvin's migraines.

we may not be running a 4-3 D anymore but I would trade bowe for JA all day long every day of the week. Harvin not so much.

Harvin has serious concerns about his ability to stay healthy. And while he is another jack of all trades, what we really need is a master, which is what Bowe is. Though I agree at times he loses his focus. I think the Vikings would have to throw in a higher pick than a 4th for me to even consider.

Would you trade an SUV for a sports car and a tank of gas before a cross-country road trip?

Que? Harvin has started 42 of 45 games since entering the league. Confused

Well, between the migraines impacting his overall health, as well as IIRC a nagging hamstring that seemed to really hamper him at times in 2010, again going off of memory, he's certainly more injury prone then Bowe, even if he's overall not horribly undependable.

Harvin started a lot of games, you're right. But he had a run of weeks where he didn't practice, was a game time call and then played sparingly. His biggest gripe is wanting more playing time considering he was only in on like 52 percent of the Vikes offensive plays.

Bottom line is the Vikings would really have to sweeten the pot in my opinion, otherwise we're trading one unhappy WR for another, and our slot WR is already 3 deep if you really think about it. With Breaston/Wylie/McCluster. And while yes I think Harvin might be better than all three of them, certainly the second two, I just feel like we would downgrade our team by trading Bowe for Harvin.
