What sort of player is Sahin?

A good one. He reminds me of Xabi Alonso.

I almost responded with the exact same thing Laughing

He definitely reminds me of Alonso with his passing skills with a little bit of Essien mixed in (high work rate and aggressiveness)

Agreed. If it wasn't for Xabi Alonso being at Madrid, Sahin would be the Xabi Alonso of Madrid.

He's not nearly the ballwinner on the level of an Essien or Xabi Alonso. Very, very talented passer though, going off his 2010-11 season I had him pretty much on Modric's level talent wise.

Hearing from ESPNFC that the Vertongen deal has fallen through.

Quote:
"This is a shame. I thought that it would be sorted out much sooner," Vertonghen told Algemeen Dagblad."As it looks now, I'll be at Ajax on July 2. I'm hoping for a solution, but I'm not expecting a solution.

"I have one advantage: Ajax have got a good coach who knows me. I play in a good, stable squad. Let's become champions with Ajax for the third time in a row."

Levy not ponying up the cash?

While not anything concrete, and there is various other twitter football accounts saying the same it is looking more and more likely that AVB will be Spurs boss on a 3 year deal.

Maybe thats the sticking point with Vertonghen, maybe AVB dosent want him?

The Vertonghen transfer stalling isn't actually because of Spurs. There is a disagreement between Jan and Ajax with regards to a 15% cut of the transfer fee that he thinks he is owed.

De Boer has come out and said that a deal is very close and he expects it to be completed.

Corluka has completed his switch to Lokomotiv for a fee thought to be £7 million.

Quote:
Lokomotiv Moscow have announced the signing of Vedran Corluka on a three-year contract from Tottenham.

The 26-year-old will link up with his erstwhile Croatia national team boss Slaven Bilic, who has been named as Lokomotiv's new manager.

Bale signing another extension is great news as well.

Quote:
On signing his new deal, Gareth said: “I’ve been here for five years now and I’ve enjoyed every minute. The fans have been great to me and I’d love to re-pay them and do the very best for them. The Club is progressing and I want to be a part of that, so it was great to get the deal done.
"I love the Club and the fans and I want to play my part in trying to get us back into the Champions League - where we belong. We’ve a good, young squad and we need to work together to get back on the biggest stage again."

Good day at the office, Levy.

If you can get 7M for Corluka, you can get 35+ for Modric. BTW do you know what Modric's contract looks like, more importantly how many years he has left?

Modric is under contract at Spurs until 2016.

We will definitely get a deal worth around £35 million. I think Real are in the driving box but apparently both United and Chelsea have reignited interest.

I just realised that we managed to sell Corluka, Kranjcar and Pavlyuchenko for £21 million Shocked

That's not even fair Laughing Hopefully Levy reinvests a lot this year.

Apparently the Corluka fee was closer to £5 million, its still an absolute rip off though. The sale of those three can get us Vertonghen and Sigurdsson Laughing That's before we get rid of Modric and probably VdV. Spurs will be spending big this summer (hopefully).
