I have served time downrange, it doesn't even come up to a fraction of simulating it.
When you get suppression points, you're not actually trying to suppress the enemy, you're trying to kill them - but they give you points for trying. It's stupid, you're rewarded for not killing your enemy - like I said, just another thing that made this game more noob friendly. |
I agree with the bolded, but my point is that it is impossible to simulate that feel in a video game because it is just that, a game.
There might be other ways to do it and, like I said, I would love to hear any ideas that you think would be better.
I think it's a good system but to each their own I guess. It gives you the feel of "oh damn I can't see gotta get to cover" which is basically what suppression is, not being able to move. _________________

I'm fine with the system[though the effect need to be toned down], I'm speaking more of giving points/ribbons/accolades to a player for consistently missing a player. _________________

A suppression assist = 50 points Enemy killed = 100 points.
I think it's fine. _________________

I personally love it. There's nothing like having your kill stolen, but then you realize you get 75 pts for a kill assist and 50 pts for a suppression assist. That's better than actually getting a kill. Everytime that happens I say, "I'm glad that guy stole my kill." _________________

Otherwise I would never have gotten any kills and would still not have heat seekers _________________

I had a game on Op Metro conquest (Large tickets 300% or 500% whatever is max)
I do not remember how late I entered the game
We had the platform & the Ticket hall & Were down a few hundred tickets.
I had an ammo crate a medic crate and my M60E4 with Bipod & Holo sights set up on the far right ticket turnstile.
I went 74 & 6 & no one got past me on the right to try going through the locker rooms.
I got 6 different language filled messages about being a camper, But all I was doing was locking down 1/3 of that 'passageway.
I had snipers & rockets flying my way & about 4 people trying to smoke their team through..
My personal most BEASTLY game in BF3 (Had over 100+ kills before..But I like to think I was infinitely more valuable to me team then ever during this come from behind.)
Ended the round with a Pathetic 4% accuracy & a total score of 111,800 with ribbons & everything.
Wish it showed how many shots fired..I was non stop firing down the right side. _________________

Nice, honestly think my best games was the first night I played with cfbnfl. Wasn't my best in terms of high score but me and him ran the maps with our tank. I think we won every match and me and him were 1-2 in points in almost every game. _________________

thats why i love the support class, Setting down my M240b on a bipod and just ripping everyone to shreds that comes in sight. And then not having to worry about running out of ammo. _________________

Haven't played in nearly a month and only a couple times in the last 6. Definitely fun to get a chance to play again but interesting to see the change in playing.g styles as they tweak things. _________________

So I downloaded the close quarters DLC and I cant stop playing this game now. But one thing bothers me a bit. Was the DLC already locked on the disc or something? The download was only 108 kb and for DLC with 4 maps and 10 guns that's RIDICULOUS. Can anyone clarify this? _________________

Most games have disc-based DLC, I don't see why Battlefield would be any different. I know my download on PC was over 2 GB. _________________
