Per Schefter it averages about $8 million a season over four years.
I've been saying for most of the offseason that I think the Bears are very marginally better than the Lions right now. Some have pointed out the Forté contract situation as a potential distraction that might affect their on-field production. Obviously, this is a bad thing for the Lions. Has this changed anyone's mind about whether the Bears can wrestle away our wildcard spot, or do you think we're still the better squad? _________________

Wild card spot?!
That belongs to Green Bay! And NO, I don't think they'll take it from them.
It's our turn, inappropriate word the Packers and the Bears!
There, I feel better _________________ The Lions will finish 8-8 in the 2013-14 season.

I think the Wild Card spot is pretty up in the air. It's going to depend on who can stay healthy and not loose key players. _________________

I would argue that was the Bears' biggest problem in 2011. Cutler and Forté got IR'd midway through the season. They might have been able to edge us out of the wildcard race if they'd had Jason Campbell and Michael Bush last year. Not that we didn't have plenty of injured RBs to speak of, or that Stafford didn't break his finger. _________________

Obviously this sucks as a Lions fan. Looks like they got him at a pretty good price as well.
The Bears are going to be a tough team to beat if Cutler and Forte stay on the field but that defense is getting older. _________________ AAL: DeAndre Levy 31 Tackles

| Doesn't change my expectations at all, because there was no chance in my mind that Forte wouldn't be suited up for the Bears this season. Chicago has a higher floor, while the Lions have a higher ceiling. And Stafford, with another year of exp under his belt. Cutler has peaked, maybe not statistically, but in terms of ability. Chicago vs Detroit for a wild card spot will be a good battle, and will probably come down to health once again. It's not out of the question the North will put 3 teams into the postseason either. |
