I don't disagree with the assessment on Benjamin thus far. He's speedy. How are his hands? How tough is he? Can he run routes? Training camp is around the corner and will answer a lot of questions, we'll see what he looks like then. But I do think he'll make the roster, I'm confident in the pick, and also confident in the game plan with him in it, if he can show us he's got what it takes to play at this level. |
I think that his college production is a big reason we took him where we did. He's not simply a small fast project, he's one that actually put up some solid numbers with poor QB play. While he is probably still raw by NFL standards, he definitely has some WR skills, as opposed to a bigger project like Mitchell was, who had less production at the college level but was an elite athlete. |

I think its clear that they like the HWS guys. But it seems they like the Height and Weight part the most. They want guys that can win the jump ball and get the YAC. Having someone like Cooper, Norwood, and Benjamin all bring a different element to the offense compared to MoMass, Little, and Gordon. |

imo Benjamin is further ahead of Mitchell when he was drafted as a WR, imo if one of them is cut I want it to be mitchell, I believe Benjamin was held back some by Jacory Harris _________________ 2013 Joe Blackburn HOF Award Recipient

For sure. Even if you watch some of Benjamin's youtube stuff, you can see that some of those passes aren't really even close to him. hard to utilize a deep thread if the QB has ZERO accuracy. |

Which means to me that Benjamin does a decent job of finding the ball in the air. Which as a deep threat, that skill is so invaluable. When you're running out of real estate as a receiver and you look back and the ball is on it's way, slowing down and changing direction is hard to do. And from his videos that seems to be something he does pretty well, much like Desean Jackson, when he has to turn and wait or come back, or run a little east-west to get to the ball. I'm excited about Benjamin's upside if he can find those seems and holes in the NFL. _________________ "You mean...this ain't Malcolm Browns car...? ...Damn...my bad..."

This is very true. Tracking the ball is very difficult when your running as fast as you can and the ball is coming at you that fast. Its what separates the mike wallace's from the Benard Berrian's. |

| Finally something other than he is fast. I only see average ball adjustment, but average is not bad. He made some throws look inaccurate with his "jump and catch even though it will hit me in the helmet" stuff. Do you know what I mean, guys jump even when they don't need too. Probably due to his short arms. Lol, I am getting off Benjamin. I am misguided and a fool according to the preachers kid. He is probably right. |

I don't believe the "jump and catch" is all it is you're seeing. A lot of those jumps I see him taking are to protect the ball. Some of those jumps are an adjustment in footing, and allow him to make his next move. He should be able to eliminate that though, with a more accurate passer throwing his way. _________________ "You mean...this ain't Malcolm Browns car...? ...Damn...my bad..."

Greetings Bulldog, I just wanted you to know that I have been reading your "state of" posts since you started them and it was one of the biggest reason I joined this site. I also enjoyed Mistakebythelake's discussion about TVM in another thread and I saw that he posts here too.
Keep up the fantastic work, Thanks! |

Welcome to the Forum!!
I'm glad my posts helped you make your decision to join. I think they are great topics and obviously spark conversation b/c of the controversy around them. I'm looking at you MBTL...
I have more coming, Just havn't gotten around to it yet. I was going to do the OL next, but then got mixed up looking at our Run Defense. that proved to be a little more involved than I thought it would be.
