Who are these mythical veteran backup QBs available?

Until camp cut downs, no one of note. I think Harrell, even if he appears to flop, will be better than the cut, over-the-hill left overs as well.

And once camp comes down you really think ANY QB is going to come in and learn this offense and be better than Harrell/Coleman? Think

Oh I'm sure Vince Young would learn it overnight. Laughing

No.

That's the problem a veteran that has been brought in, if they had to see the field would almost certainly require at the very least a moderate reduction in the playbook on top of lacking the timing and mental anticipation built with working with the receivers.

Throw money at Bulger to come out of retirement. Outside of that just Rodgers-Coleman-Harrell should be the dudes taking snaps. I can't think of another guys I would thinking of signing outside of Marc

Never a fan of the "veteran back-up." Why sign a player for more money, that we know can't cut it to replace a guy that is cheaper that we worry might not cut it?

I'm not the biggest Graham Harrell fan. But why not let him fail before we declare him a failure? I just don't see an available player that is going to help this team should we lose Rodgers. IMO this season, we lose him we are screwed. So why pay "6 year vet X" $1 million for what we get for 400k from Graham Harrell?

The most realistic option I see out there is Colt McCoy, depending on the Browns asking price. Other than that I think a seasoned Graham Harrell is our best option behind Rodgers. I'm really looking forward to watching Harrell play this preseason, I'm expecting vast improvement with another year in Macs QB school.

I'd rather bring back Bart Starr or Don Majkowski.
