Last thread got to 100 pages,
Go Blue!
I'm getting a little scared that we don't have any 2014 commits yet, I'm getting anxious.
We seem to have great shots at some highly ranked prospects.
Malik McDowell
Damon Webb
Michael Ferns
Corey Holmes
Jabril Peppers
Any others missing? and wen do we get out first 2014 commit and from who? _________________

I'm surprised Treadwell hasn't committed already. _________________

Corey Holmes seems like a slam dunk after reading some stuff including this awesome piece from Aquaman; http://www.michigantremendous.com/2012/07/corey-holmes-camp-experience.html but I don't think he is in a hurry to commit.
Going off recent history I would guess that Damon Webb will be the first to commit. I would like for it to be McDowell but that guy is pretty sought after. |

Damon Webb or his dad just came out and said he probably won't be deciding until next year at this time.
We really don't have OT prospect were leading for.
For 2014 we look good for defensive players.
McDowll, Webb, Westaphal, Peppers, Ferns but not so many Offensive players and that kind of worries me. _________________

Ah, didn't read that about Webb.
At a camp today Shane Morris threw the football 75 yards AND took the Golden Gun accuracy jersey for session one day 2 |

Depends on what you mean by highly ranked.
Some of these guys are highly ranked, some aren't ranked, but will likely be ranked somewhat high and where we stand (last I heard):
McDowell - top group/leader (Has visited and possibly visiting soon?)
Webb - top group/leader (Has visited multiple times and will visit soon)
Ferns - top 3/final 3 (visited and will again soon)
Holmes - leader (visited)
Peppers - top 6
Da'Shawn Hand - top 8
Jay Hayes - top 4 (visiting soon)
Mason Cole - top group (visiting soon)
D'Andre Payne - top group (visited and setting up fall visit)
Parrker Westphal - top group/leader? (visited)
^ All of the above have offers.
1st commit? Depends on certain things.
McDowell - believe his parents want him to wait until his Junior year starts
Webb and Holmes - believe they want to wait until after their Junior seasons
Ferns - After he visits his top 3 for games
Westphal - wants to wait a bit (I think)
QB commit - depends on when offers go out at the position.
Depending on those things it could be any of the following: McDowell, Webb, Holmes, Ferns, Westphal, Chance Stewart (if he gets an offer), couple others might be possible not sure though (Hayes, Doles, some unoffered guy who gets an offer- Gelen Robinson, Nathaniel Devers, or other).
When? Depends, maybe at/around the BBQ, maybe not until the season. _________________

Not that worried about offense.
QB - will know more when offers go out, even without them out we are in Chance Stewart's top 2 (with Wisconsin). If we offer him I expect him to commit quickly. 0 offers out right now.
RB - TBD - only offered 2, maybe 3 (depending on where Scarborough and Hurd were offered at).
WR - Only about 4 or 5 offers out. We lead for Holmes and Josh Malone has visited. Lost out on Drake Harris.
TE - TBD - only offered 3 thus far, all still on the table.
OL - We are in the top group for a couple guys (Doles, Cole, Hayes, possibly Jamarco Jones as well) who are visiting soon (though Hayes could also play defense).
Most of our offers are at OL, DL, and DB right now.
Our defensive class could be LOADED though. _________________

Hoke has repeatedly stated that he will always focus on building through the lines and so far so good! I haven't been this excited for the future of a team since the preseason of the incredibly disastrous 2008 Tigers season. |

As a new wolverines fan, who are the players to watch out for this season besides Denard Robinson? _________________

Fitzgerald Toussaint, RB: He had a breakout season last year with over 1000 yards rushing and average 5.6 yards per carry.
Taylor Lewan, LT: potential first round pick.
On the defensive side of the ball there are a lot of guys that are stars in the making.
I am most looking forward to Blake Countess, Jake Ryan, and the freshman standout Joe Bolden. |

And WR Roy Roundtree. He had close to 1,000 yards as a sophomore in 2010. He looks to return to that success this season. _________________

While it is not the best situation with PSU is there any recruits who committed to PSU who may sway to UM or any other Big Ten team in the coming days?
Wondering how it affects UM, Wisc and OSU recruiting as those are the two primary teams that concern me in future _________________

With our class close to full, I really don't see anyone on their commit list who'd become priorities for us. We would however have some interest in several players if they are released from their scholarships following the sanctions. _________________

For 2013 class? No one likely for us. They lost a DT commit to UNC yesterday. Other teams in the conference might benefit, but its still too early to tell who.
For 2014 class? They don't have any commits yet, but it could help us. 2014 OH LB Michael Ferns has named a final 3 of Michigan, ND, and PSU. Thought seems to be we lead the other 2, I'd expect the penalties to hurt PSU chances.
If they get a bowl ban and players could transfer, then maybe, but that is premature. _________________
