I have a five- to 10-second rule. Whether the kick is good or bad, I think you have five to 10 seconds to reflect on it as you're walking off the field. You go, "OK, I liked that ... I didn't like this." You wipe it clean. You think about it after the game, but you wipe it clean during the game. You do the best you can the next kick. Freshman year, I realized I've got to have a short memory.

Cmon Walsh! Craig is 10x the Bond that Brosnan was.

Longwell said the same thing about not reflecting on a kick for very long.

I agree with Walsh. I'm not a big fan of the Potato Head Bond.

His reply makes me feel old...he called Pierce the old bond when there were 3 before him!

Sounds like he has a good mindset going into the season.

I feel the same way. I hate to dwell on things too.

I'm not a huge fan of the Bond series, but even me, as an outsider, can realize that Brosnan was made for Bond. Craig is barely above Timothy Dalton in that category.

I cant understand how you can talk about Bond, with no mention of Sean Connery....

Actually there were five: Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton.

Connery of course was the quintessential Bond.

Cool

Great line! That is sig material.

Maybe we should do a top 5 all time list for this. disaacs?

David Niven shouldn't count as a former James Bond. He was in a spoof that wasn't part of the Bond franchise.

It's kind of hard to rank them because they each brought a different interpretation of the Bond character to the screen. I like Pierce Brosnan. He understood what the franchise was about - women and action. Roger Moore was the first Bond that I knew about so that's who I think about when I hear "James Bond" although I do recognize his limited acting range ("From a to b" where his words, not mine) and the terrible plots for most of his movies. "For Your Eyes Only" is still my all time favorite Bond movie. I've never liked Sean Connery that much (yes, I'm a Bond heretic), Dalton was O.K., and Lazenby was just one movie so is difficult to rate with the rest. My opinion of Craig is...

Unfortunately we are so far removed from the original conception of Bond (a spy during the Cold War) that the new reimaging just doesn't do it for me. Kind of like comparing the new and the original "Manchurian Candidate". You can't put a square peg in a round hole.

Which gets me on a whole different topic... remakes. {shudder}
