New Orleans — The Hornets, Suns and Timberwolves have agreed to a multiplayer trade sending 7-foot center Robin Lopez and forward Hakim Warrick from Phoenix to New Orleans, while moving forward Wesley Johnson and a first-round draft pick from Minnesota to Phoenix, a person familiar with the deal said.

The deal also sends guard Jerome Dyson and retiring center Brad Miller’s $5.1 million contract from New Orleans to Minnesota, allowing the Timberwolves to clear space under the NBA’s salary cap as they pursue free agents. Minnesota also will receive two second-round draft picks from New Orleans, while the Hornets will receive cash.

Davis I'm assuming will play PF then.

The fact that Minnesota got rid of Wesley Johnson is good in itself, but it seems like they rarely have any 1st Rounders since the famous PG draft.

Very nice. Not a huge fan of having to take on Warrick, but you do what you must to get a legitimate 7 footer who will allow your franchise player (Davis) to play his natural position.

Even if Rivers never learns to pass/play point guard, there is more than enough offense/defense between Rivers/Gordon/Aminu/Davis/Lopez/Anderson to keep the Hornets in contention for a playoff spot next year. I think given the chance to start, Lopez will definitely surprise a lot of people this year playing alongside Davis.

And Minnesota must really think they are pretty close to contention for a championship with how quickly they have been giving away 1st round draft picks lately. Hope it works out for them.

I'll reserve judgement until I see his contract. If we're paying him more than 5 million a year I'm going to be pretty upset.

He's a 7 footer. He plays D and rebounds, his issue is work ethic from what I've seen/read. He could be as good as his brother he just doesn't care enough.

That too. Basically he's got massive potential that he'll never reach.
