quite homestly I don't care [inappropriate/removed] about offset language. If a first rounder doesn't pan out at this point in time of Pioli's career he better have his suitcases ready. The last thing he could accept was a Poe holdout.
The Ugoh signing is interesting though. Stephenson not ready to back up the outside? Well, here's the fallback option. OL definitely should not be an excuse for poor QB play this season.
But he'll have to prove he's healthy - especially after that injury-triggered retirement talk prior to last season. |

Ugoh didn't fare so well at tackle in Indianapolis and so they moved him to guard where he did slightly better.
I think he'll stick because he can play almost any OL position. Definitely a good backup. |

I wonder how happy Lilja is to see an old teammate.

If it was any year before this I think he would stick, but unfortunately for him I think it will come down to a numbers game. For me, keeping any more than 8 OL is overkill and just going by presumed starters and draft picks you have 7. Albert, Lilja, Hudson, Asamoah, Winston, Stephenson, Allen. That only leaves 1 spot open in my book. Since it is mainly for depth I would presume that if either Holland or Bruggeman fill that last position. If not, well we are left with Lilja (never played OC), or Asamoah(I'd rather just focus on RG) filling in for Hudson if he were to get banged up.
I think this move was more just for camp numbers. He can fill in for Stephenson/Mims(who should play 60-70& of preseason snaps) and also fill in for our young reserve OL if need be . I like the pickup for training camp and preseason, but unfortunately I think we are too deep at the positions he's capable of playing this year.
He could also provide a little intel on Peyton, not that I think this has anything to do with why we signed him but every little bit helps! _________________

| I actually think they probly view ugh as a G and that he would be looking to compete with and push Daryl Harris off the roster. |
