I've read he planned on it unless he was going to be a first or second round pick. We'll see though. _________________

Troubling and upsetting to see Redd, who once called Penn State his dream school (as overplayed of a statement as that's become), wearing USC colors days after transferring. Definitely a punch-in-the-gut feeling, but we'll get over it.
Still, he's a phenomenal talent and suits the offense the Trojans run. He's certainly the most talented runner on the squad from day one. Depending on how he is utilized, he could be a very impactful player. _________________

We know your pain, as USC fans we went through the exact same thing two years ago having a ton of guys transfer out of the program and losing the number one recruit in the country after he signed his letter of intent.
Anyways can you give us some more insight on Silas Redd's game? _________________

We know your pain... really? You guys are USC, ESPN has coverage of you guys if one of your players happens to hold a door for someone. Don't even try to compare what you guys got to what Penn State got. As for losing players I don't even remember one high profile player transferring and as for losing Seantrel Henderson, the guy has been a worthless slob and troublemaker at Miami. _________________

That doesn't mean people didn't try but no one left. _________________

Except for the financial penalties, Penn State's penalties are pretty much the same as what USC was given, just add 1 extra season of sanctions to Penn State.
PSU - 5 years probation
USC - 4 years probation
PSU - 4 year bowl ban
USC - 2 year bowl ban
PSU - 10 scholarships reduced a year for 4 years (total 40)
USC - 10 scholarships reduced a year for 3 years (total 30)
The difference being that Penn State is forced to stay at 65 while USC is at 75. Both classes can only bring 15 recruits a year though.
PSU - Vacation of games (head coach goes from #1 to #8 on all time wins)
USC - Vacation of games, Reggie Bush stripped of Heisman (team goes from BCS #1 & AP #1 to only AP #1)
Vacating games doesn't really matter, seeing as people know who won those games anyway.
PSU - All players (Fr, So, Jr, & Sr.) allowed to transfer and play without sitting out a year.
USC - All upperclassmen allowed to transfer and play without sitting out a year. _________________

Double the bowl ban
Stripped of 12 years of wins compared to one or two.
It's not the same.
It's definitely worse. _________________

Penn State's sanctions are worse than ours and deservedly so, I mean it's not like their entire administration and coaching staff covered up child molestation and child abuse or anything... _________________

The stripping of wins is meaningless. Those are more of a political / PR move rather than anything substantial or tangible because the games already happened. The bowl ban stings, but only due to the loss of the bowl revenues. The punishment is not that bad, to be honest. The real part of Penn State's punishment is the $60 million fine and additional oversight. _________________

I'm still waiting for someone to show me where the NCAA regulation states that behavior is an athletics violation. Considering the NCAA regulation is based exclusively around athletics, not law enforcement, I still don't feel that it had the authority to enact any punishment at all since legal issues are not within its purview. _________________
