| Quote: | | Ijalana, Edds out: Just like that, the Colts have lost two players for the season. Coach Chuck Pagano confirmed second-year offensive lineman Ben Ijalana and third-year linebacker A.J. Edds each suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee Sunday |
So with that the OL is pretty set with Castonzo/Reitz/Satele/McGlynn.Justice
and no depth at ILB behind Angerer and Connor.

Apparently after tearing his ACL last year Ilijana bulked up.
And is now listed as a 337lb OG.
Although this injury is another horrible set back in his progress.
Wishing him a speedy recovery.
I liked him coming out of college. _________________

Really to bad for the team especially given our lack of depth at linebacker. Speedy recovery to both guys. _________________ Why, if it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg. |

Both Ijalana and Edds cleared waivers so they remain with the Colts now on IR.
I didn't find a credible link for the story but of course if they were claimed we would know.
I didn't know that they changed the ruling so that you can't just place a player in IR anymore. They have to clear waivers. Not sure if that is just preseason/training camp or not. |

Can't remember what article I read but it was stated that the rule on IR in training camp is that if you place a player on IR without clearing waivers prior to the roster cut down to 75 players that the player will count against the roster until the cut down.
So by waiving Ijalana and Edds, they left them open to being claimed by another team but that team would be left with the same decision the Colts made. And now they were able to sign an additional OT and have an open roster spot to make the Eagles trade. |
