The Giant CB group doesn't have much proven depth. Could be trouble for them.

Sounds like last season...

Prince Amukamara. When the Eagles were about to draft my hopes were raising because he was dropping...But the Giants took him. Who are the Giants CBs now?...

I was praying we wouldn't trade up for Amukamara, wanted Jimmy Smith soooo bad.

I mocked the Eagles trading up for Prince on this forum in 2011 draft season, and really wanted him on out team. Not only was I disappointed that he was taken by the Giants, but our consolation prize was a 27 year old fireman instead.

We could have drafted Jimmy smith in the 1st and Danny Watkins probably would have fallen into our hands in the 2nd round anyways.

Then again, if we took a CB in the 1st in 2011, we might not have ended up getting Nnamdi and DRC in the summer.

Exactly what I was typing on my phone before it was lost. It comes down to whom would you rather have

Prince/Smith , (Ben Ijalana or Rodney Hudson), 3rd rd SS?
or
Danny Watkins , Nnamdi , no Jarrett and no Marsh

The reason I say Nnamdi is because the Kolb trade was going through regardless netting us DRC and I think Kendricks. Signing a 1st rd CB would negate signing Nnamdi IMO already having DRC and Prince moving forward plus Asante for 2011. It also would have made drafting Marsh in the 3rd unrealistic as well. Watkins would have never made it to our pick in the 2nd with Den and Indy picking before us let alone Sea, Chi and GB in the 1st. In the end we are better for it.

Given how everything played out, I'm not complaining Very Happy

Nothing wrong with a fireman.

http://predictionmachine.com/2012-NFL-preview-analysis-experts-super-bowl-odds-picks

Quote:
The Predictalator has already played the 2012 NFL season 50,000 times before it's actually played. The Philadelphia Eagles turn their "Dream Team" into Super Bowl champions, winning it all league-high 18.0% of the time. In the most likely Super Bowl, Philadelphia defeats the New England Patriots 54.3% of the time and by an average score of 28-26. New England, the AFC's top-seed, wins the Super Bowl 14.2% of the time. The Green Bay Packers (9.2%), Houston Texans (9.2%) and Pittsburgh Steelers (7.2%) follow the Eagles and Patriots in Super Bowl likelihood.

Season Summary:

Quote:
The Philadelphia Eagles assembled an impressive roster heading into the 2011 season. Yet, with little time to prepare for the season with so many new parts, the Eagles lost four of their first five games, including three losses by a touchdown or less. The team finished the year on a four game winning streak and ultimately missed the playoffs by just one game. In total, the Eagles lost five of the seven games they played where the margin was seven points or less. Philadelphia was also incredibly unlucky, turning the ball over 38 times and suffering many critical injuries throughout the season. With a full offseason, a tremendous draft and some better fortune, the Eagles, who have the best roster in the NFL, look like the most likely team in the league to win it all. Even assuming starting quarterback Michael Vick misses two games on average (but he is assumed to be healthy for this playoff simulation), Philadelphia wins a league-high 10.8 games to take the NFC East, which has four teams projected to win 7.3 or more games, 56.9% of the time, ultimately making the playoffs 84.0% of the time. The Eagles go on to make the Super Bowl 29.5% of the time, winning it 18.0% of the time.

I would rent one of those XL white vans to drive cross country, pick up some of my FF Eagle brethren on the way and when I reach the city, propose to Anne Hathaway if I could find her address, then meander down the heart of South Street with nothing but a pair of Eagles drawers on while double fisted with two pints of ale.
