Oregon State coach Mike Riley missed calling offensive plays from the sidelines over the past four years.

With a heavy background in running offenses, Riley said following Saturday’s practice that he will call his own plays this season.

How does he do as a play caller Beavs?

thank god. langsdorf has been calling the plays for the past few years, and we've really struggled offensively. between our weapons and riley play calling, i expect avery potent offense this year.

Here's a rundown on our commits so far:

TE David Ajamu, 6-4 238, Shelton High School, (Shelton, WA)

Ajamu is an athletic tight end who I see similar playing to the role Joe Halahuni did. Ajamu has a tad more speed than Halahuni did however. Ajamu had offers from Nevada, Wyoming, and Portland State.

WR Victor Bolden, 5-9 165, Los Osos High School, (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

Bolden is a track star and has exceptional speed. He definitely has to put on some more weight, however. I see him playing an eerily similar role to what James Rodgers did. He also had offers from Eastern Washington, Hawaii, and Utah.

DB Terin Solomon, 6-2 185, Murrieta Valley High School, (Murrieta, CA)

Solomon is a defensive player who plays fast and has a great nose for the ball. He hits akin to how Al Afalava did. Solomon currently plays safety, but he could definitely put on some weight and end up at OLB. Also has offers from Nevada and UCLA.

WR Jordan Villamin, 6-4 195, Etiwanda High School, (Etiwanda, CA)

Villamin obviously has great size and will be a threat in the redone. He bas deceptive speed for a receiver his size and is a bit like Malik Gilmore, a WR commit in the 2012 class. Also had offers from Eastern Washington, Northern Colorado, and Utah.

WR Jermel Walker, 6-0 165, Rancho Cucamonga High School, (Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

Walker is a receiver that has adequate speed, but where he shines is with his great route running and very reliable hands. He needs to put on some weight though. Also had offers from Houston, Minnesota, Nevada, Utah, Utah State, and Washington State.

While these guys' offer sheets aren't overly impressive, I believe they are all talented players who will fit our system nicely. They are all 3 stars across the board on all of the recruiting sites as well.

According to the Thibodaux Daily Comet, Tropical Storm Isaac is bearing down on Louisiana, has already forced the cancellation of the Colonels' football practices through Wednesday and could mess up their travel plans.

So the game vs powerhouse Nicholls State may not work out.

Our person from BeaverBlitz said that this has not even been discussed cause they don't plan on leaving until Friday, and the storm should pass by then.

What confirms what I said before:

The game is cancelled and OrSU will start their season against Wisconsin. Shocked

Rooting for an upset.

Riley said this is the biggest non conference game OrSu has ever hosted.

Fortunately Wisky struggled in week 1 against a crap team. They may have a chance. Cool

2012 Fresno State commit David Keller has joined the team. He played on the same HS team as our RB Chris Brown. Keller had some solid offers out of HS including Cal and Utah
