well, practice is over today and here is one last tweet

‏@DMNRainerSabin

Bad snaps are the theme when the Cowboys' offensive reserves are on the field in team drills.

You know it's pretty bad when Costa has to play all 3 squads just so Orton and McGee / Carpenter can get the snap.

With Costa lack of strength and the lack of depth behind him. Center is really starting to worry me. I'm not liking this situation at all.

And by all accounts, we're not going to sign a veteran.

The interior of this offensive line is a mess. We need to get some quality help there.

Give MB a chance - he can atleast snap the ball and hold the POA

Yeah but the real question is will the team give MB a chance to become the starting center over Costa?

For some reason they don't want to believe that Costa is at best a backup center smh this is bad. Romo suffered a season ending injury due to an inside blitz and it still hasn't got fixed.

I've only heard good things about Beasley and have only heard bad things about the other receivers vying for #3... why isn't he given more of an opportunity?

After walking away and then returning, he probably has it earn it a wee bit more than the rest of them. He has to prove that he wants to play.

I have a feeling Beasley makes the team. But, he really needs to show up as a punt returner in the pre season.

i'm looking forward to see cranky Jason on the field this season!
Quote:
One thing is for certain out here in the first 10 days of training camp in Oxnard: Jason Witten has a different demeanor about him.

Call it focused. Call it determined. Call it frustrated or maybe just downright pissed off.

But Witten’s crankiness is evident here as he goes about his business in his 10th pro season.

Quote:
“I am a little different than I’ve been before and that’s just because I think we feel a true sense of urgency,” Witten said. “We’ve had feelings like this every year, but this year just seems different. I’m tired of it. I’m tired of the same ol’ stuff. We say the same things every year and the results have been the same.

“I think in the past we’ve had an attitude like, ‘Hey don’t worry guys. We’ll fix that problem. We’ll get better here or there.’ And at some time you just want to say enough is enough.”

It actually reminded me of a conversation I had a month ago with former Cowboys safety Darren Woodson, who was also the vocal leader during the last few seasons of his career. Woodson said he realized at some point that being “Mr. Nice Guy” wasn’t going to cut it. Woodson said he ultimately decided he didn’t care if the players liked him or not.

And to some degree, Witten is the same way.

“You can’t be everyone’s friend all the time,” Witten said. “If I see something happen, where a guy doesn’t line up right or keeps making the same mistake, I’m going to say something. I’ve always been that way, but I think it’s a little more of that this year. Players can hear it from the coaches for so long, but when you hear it from a player, it’s different.”

Todd Archer ‏@toddarcher

Morris Claiborne is taking part in walkthrough. Knee must b better but not sure he practices today. Find out later.

Tom Orsborn ‏@tom_orsborn
Claiborne moving well in walkthrough. Does he return this afternoon? Needs all the reps he can get w/Giants looming.

It's been about a week since his injury,it'll be interesting to see if he returns.

OXNARD, Calif. - The Cowboys' first preseason game Monday against the Raiders likely won't feature Morris Claiborne, who's eyeing his debut in the second exhibition contest on Aug. 18 against the Chargers.
