Game was so much closer than it should have been but it's nice to come away with the first win of the season.
I love the new uniforms _________________

Since I was out of town, I didn't get to watch it...happy for the win, but certainly disappointed at the way they had to win it....but that's typical for a Gophers fan.
Therefore, I'm not going to be surprised if the next game is close too, even though based upon talent alone they should win by 4 TDs. _________________

95% of it was all Gray. He had terrible accuracy and we won imo in spite of him. _________________

I wouldn't mind that. I'm a big Max Shortell fan. _________________

Gray shouldn't be "benched", he should be put at WR _________________

At this weight, he's not fast enough to be a WR. I personally don't think benching Gray would be the best option, despite Suave's opinion.
Gray is still, right now, the best option, and I have to hope that he's not going to be that bad the rest of the season. It's unfortunate that Brewster wasted his first 2 years keeping him at WR. _________________

Game 2 GOPHERS (1-0) vs. UNH Wildcats (1-0)
vs
When: 11:00 AM CT September 8th
Where: TCF Bank Stadium (Minneapolis, MN)
TV/Radio: Big Ten Network (TV), KFAN 100.3 (Radio)
Analysis: Gophers' Home Opener. The key, as it will be every week, will be Marqueis Gray. He needs to play significantly better than he did last week, otherwise the Wildcats could certainly surprise...I mean, it's not like the Gophers haven't lost to a FCS school before. In fact, they've lost 2 consecutive games to FCS schools (South Dakota in 2010 and NDSU in 2011). The Gophers are 93-28-7 all-time in home openers. Gray is #28 all-time in rushing yards for the Gophers, after totaling 68 yds last week and is #2 all-time amongst Gophers' QBs (about 700 yds behind Rickey Foggie...who was the first Gophers' QB I recall watching). KR Troy Stoudermire is only 415 yds shy of holding the NCAA record for return yds.
New Hampshire comes from the FCS Colonial Athletic Association conference. They are 1-0 after recording a 38-17 win over Holy Cross last week. They are starting a redshirt freshman, Sean Goldrich, at QB, who threw for 193 yds and 2 TDs, as well as ran for 71 yds. The Wildcats have currently the longest streak of playoff appearances by any FCS school with 8 and have been ranked in the top-25 continuously since September of '04. _________________

They played much better today. While they still have tremendous room for improvement, I did like how they actually did what they were supposed to do in beating up a team with inferior talent. While Marqueis still needs to work on his passing (although he did pass for 75%), I think the bigger need is to work on their running, because they were very inconsistent. Defensively, they did rather well.
And on another note, I am looking forward to seeing Shortell start next year. I was tremendously impressed with his passing skill. _________________

I think the Gopher future is bright with Shortell, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like Mitch Leidner.
My brother plays for Leidner's rival school so I've seen him play twice. Kid has great size at 6'4 220 with a cannon arm. He was impressive to watch live. I love the direction the Gophers are heading. _________________

That was a good confidence builder for this team. _________________

They certainly played better than the other "U" and the other "U of M" (who would be nowhere without Denard Robinson). _________________
