Disagree.
Given its accepted practice to post about players off the field negatives, it would be great to read more about the charity work NFL guys do.
It wouldn't cause a detriment to the other coverage, and the more NFL news the better.
I wasn't aware of the Nadin Khoury story, really classy what DeSean, Jackson and Heremans did for him. |

Especially with a player like DeSean. All people seem to concentrate on are his end zone dances and me-first attitude. I'm very glad this story was brought to the public so it can shed some light on the young man during what else happens in his off the field life.

I think Desean gets alot of credit for his off the field work, if anything he gets blamed for his on-field issues(on-field meaning all football realted stuff)
He is kind of like Ocho was(before this year of course), everybody knew him as a good guy actually just didnt like his stuff with teams. _________________

Here's a few photos from yesterday's event:
Here's what Jackson had to say at the event:
http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2012/9/11/3313361/desean-jackson-supporting-wounded-warriors-at-ft-dix-today
Quote: | "The Wounded Warrior Project is a great organization and this is something that I feel very grateful and blessed to be able to do," said Jackson. "My cousin, Jimmy Jackson, was a Sergeant E5 and won two purple hearts and two bronze stars after serving in Vietnam. After seeing what he's dealt with throughout his life, this is a cause that really hits home for me. The people in the military put their lives on the line for us every day. I think it's important to recognize the great service they provide for this country, especially at this time of year. I'm excited to meet some of the soldiers and let them know how much I appreciate what they do. They are true heroes." |
Very classy! |
Desean Jackson actually came out to my base in DE and talked to us. I gave him a tour of the plane and got to talk to him for a while. It was a good time. Really down to earth. _________________

He's a good guy. A lot of people see his loud, arrogant on-field demeanor and decide that's who he is, but that's really not the case. |

Love it! For all the crap he gets for being so cocky, the dude really is a quality citizen. I remember watching that bit on him on The View. Pretty awesome stuff.
Stay Classy, DeSean. Please. Professional sports needs more people like you. _________________ Come Follow The Great NSFL!

Someone wrote an article where he stated he was a top 10 jerk of NFL. _________________

Yes, lots of NFL players donate to charities. I would encourage you to post a thread about any one of them. Like I stated in the original post, we rarely hear about all the good NFL players do only the negative stuff. The more threads like this one the merrier, IMO.
I didn't post this because it was about DeSean Jackson. I posted it because of who he donated to. I feel that by raising awareness of the Wounded Warrior Project, and what they do, it is my way of giving back. _________________

That list was a very stupid list, while you could argue DeSean is a jerk on the field, he still put Michael Vick on the number 1 spot because of what he did off the field.
And the list of the good guys didn't even had guys like DeMarcus Ware and had Coughlin on the number one spot, I'm not saying he might not be a good guy. But number one spot? _________________
