According to Scott Soshnick of Bloomberg, the league has reached an agreement with Time Warner Cable to carry the NFL Network and Red Zone Channel.

Bloomberg.com wrote:
The National Football League reached agreement with Time Warner (TWC) Cable Inc. to carry the league-owned NFL Network and RedZone Channel, two people with direct knowledge of the situation said.
Quote:
The multiyear accord may be announced later today, according to the people, who were granted anonymity because the contract hasnít been signed. New York-based Time Warner, the second-largest U.S. cable company with about 12 million subscribers, had been the only major cable provider without the NFL Network.
Quote:
According to one of the people, NFL Network will be placed on Time Warnerís digital basic tier, while RedZone will join the carrierís Sports Pass

Being one of those 12 million customers of TW Cable (I can't get DirecTv service at my apartment), I am extremely pleased with this news.

Global mods, if this is in the wrong forum, my mistake.

Asked this in another thread, I wonder if it will be added to basic cable packages?

That's what I have and I already pay enough for Cable and Internet, if it's an extra 10 a month, i probably won't pay it. Laughing

With xfinity it's an extra $8 a month for NFL Network, NFL Redzone and about 30-35 other sports channels including Pac12 Network, Big12 Network and some others.. Great deal IMO.

From the 2nd link above, it mentioned NFL Network being added to the basic digital cable package, but the Red Zone channel will be for purchase with the Sports Tier.

Any news on when this will change? I have Time Warner and already have a "sports" package, so I'm assuming it will be included?

Looks like NFL Network will be included in the basic digital package, and NFL Redzone will be in your sports package.

I have NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL Network on satellite. Redzone used to be extra as a part of a different package, which is weird, but for the first time this year it comes with Sunday Ticket/NFLN. So I'm assuming the same will be true for you guys with Time Warner.

Not yet, but I'm going to call TW Cable this weekend and see if they can give me answer and any more info at all.

I'll post whatever knowledge I can ascertain afterwards.

Stupid DirectTV makes me buy NFL Sunday ticket MAX for 300 dollars a season just to get the one channel worth watching (Redzone). While my Friend has local Cable (Charter Communications) and he only has to pay 10 extra dollars to gets Redzone channel.

We have it here in Newfoundland, Canada as part of a basic digital cable package. To anyone who doesn't have it it's a station worth getting.

I'm assuming those in the Midwest (like I) will have NFL Network somewhere in the 1300's, because all the sports in my channel lineup here are 1301-1343. It always seemed ridiculous to flip through channels and see NHL Network, NBA TV, MLB Network, and then... nothing on the NFL. Hope it's sooner rather than later.
