Really? I would say there are holes, but not as many as last year. The safety position was woeful last year. Geno Hayes shouldn't even be in the league, David can't do worse. I'll take Vincent Jackson.
As I said there are holes and Freeman has to be better then preseason, but I would say same "crap" roster as last year is a little harsh. |
Stroughter, Lewis biggers the LB's of last yr, bennett, the FS position, the DT position all crap. |
Stroughter is not bad... He just is what he is, our CB position is better, ronde at FS should help, david at lB, bennett isn't bad though i wish Bowers was healthy.
No doubt our roster improved this season. Nicks, VJax, Barron, Martin, Wright, David alone make our roster better. You expect to improve everywhere in a season? |

Some positives about our 1-2 start:
We rank second in rush defense, only giving up 47.3 yards per game. We allow a league low 2.3 yards per carry. Only Seattle is ahead, but if they give up 51 yards to the Pack tonight, we'll be first.
We rank seventh in third down defense at a 30.8% conversion rate. We stopped the only fourth down attempt against us.
Despite the yards, opposing QBs only have an 83.3 QBR against us, which is good for 12th best in the league. We've only allowed four passing touchdowns. There are 17 teams that have allowed more. Our six team INTs put us as the second best in the league, tying us with the NYG and CHI. Only Atlanta has more, with seven. We lead the league with 24 pass break ups. |

Good stuff.
I am thrilled to actually have competent defense after the last 3 1/2 years of utter incompetence. The rush defense has done a complete 180. The front seven looks to be strong for a very long time if guys can stay healthy.
I'll throw an additional positive. Our field goal kicker is just automatic. |

Hahaha. No doubt Barth is a beast.
This is Buc football. Or at least how I remember it. The offense was always a problem and the D would be dominant and save its butt. However if our D is going to compensate for our offensive BS they are going to need to be even better. I thought for sure our offense would be top 10 and our D would be the ones struggling but its the other way around. If our coaches will stop being such run whores then we would actually be 3-0. I can say that confidently. The future is bright but Schiano has to stop being such a one track minded guy in this run game thing. _________________

Our D is playing so well, if we had even a competent offense we would be 2-1. _________________

Mind = Blown. Thank you for bumping this post and finding this stat. I am so excited about that. Schiano and Sheridan have impressed me, along with Cox as front 7 coach.
I think it needs to be said more that no one expected us to beat the Giants or the Cowboys, and our amazing defense has allowed us to have a chance in those games. If the offense gets it together, we are a playoff caliber team lead by this defense. |

2011
156 yards per game
5.0 yards per carry
2012
47.3 yards per game
2.3 yards per carry
That's our rush defense. The difference is mindblowing!!
And after last night's game, we're officially first against the run. |

And they say that if you can run the ball and stop the run you will have success. We're halfway there. _________________

Obviously, yeah. I get what you're saying. But we need some positive reinforcement every once in a while. |

'Atta boy. I just want some positivity in this forum.
Schiano's hardnosed football mentality is so obviously apparent throughout this team. Look in the trenches. Our offensive line is great, despite the talent level being suspect. And our front seven attacks. ATTACKS!!! ATTACKS!!! No more read and react. They fricken ATTACK!!!
Love it. |

I know everyone is talking Bennett and McCoy and they should. They're beasting But mason Foster is a guy no one is really talking about. Dude is ridonculous right now. Those 3 guys are balling out right now.
Lavonte David should be included as well. |
