Thoughts?
He's thrown for 1,002 yards over his last two games (Georgia Tech and NC State). Led touchdown drives to win both games in the final minutes and OT.
Morris is a true junior who has learned under two NFL QB coaches (Jedd Fisch and Mark Whipple).

Smaller Josh Freeman imo.
Can make some unbelievable throws. But then unbelievably miss some easy throws. |

I'll have to see him in more than two games against relatively weak competition. _________________

I'm a Miami fan too, and let's just say I vehemently disagree.
Morris has a lot of similarities to Jake Locker as a prospect. Not as strong of a runner but a more talented passer. |

No not even close to Locker. Morris could be a late round pick but will never amount to anything in the NFL. If he keeps this up, it might change my mind though. _________________

Tremendous arm strength and can make all of the throws but at the same time he also misses on a lot of throws that he shouldn't. He'll need to stay at Miami until he graduates but at this rate I don't see any reason why he won't at least be a 3-4th round pick considering his physical tools. _________________

2012 season stats
3,415 yards of total offense (Miami record), 58%, 21 TDs, 7 INTs
Finished very strong, throwing 11 TDs, 0 INTs the last four games. With virtually his entire offense coming back, he's poised for a breakout year.
SCOUTING REPORT:
Strengths: Explosive arm strength. Can throw the ball with zip to all levels. Dangerous downfield passer who throws an accurate deep ball on a line. Big-handed player with whip-like delivery. Protects the ball (only 7 INTs on 421 attempts). Good athlete with 4.6 speed. Keeps his eyes downfield when he scrambles. Confident player who is not afraid to throw into tight windows. Tough competitor who plays hurt and takes hits in the pocket. Great student in the classroom and respected, well-liked team leader. Has already led three last-minute touchdown drives in his young career. Well-schooled in pro concepts by current and former NFL QB coaches (Mark Whipple and Jedd Fisch.)
Weaknesses: Inconsistent. Struggles with short passes and too often throw fastballs. Poor redzone quarterback who lacks touch on bucket throws. Does not play to his athleticism and is not a strong runner. Ball placement can be erratic and is too often low on slants. Ballhandling not as good as it should be considering hand size. Put up huge numbers against weaker ACC opponents but looked uncomfortable vs. the rush when faced with more athletic units such as Florida State and North Carolina. |
