On the one hand, it's really tough to see Gabbert having the cajones to even attempt to throw 5 picks in this game. But on the other hand...
ugh.
I hope something unexpected happens. |

I don't think he's looking forward to his matchup this week. I'm sure he talks to Jared Allen every once and awhile. |
He won't have that many snaps at RE. _________________

Only if they line him up at LE the whole game or the LG/Gabbert troll Monroe. |
Sadly, on 3rd down, they put him as the UT...we effed. |
He's actually played NT and RE as well...Marinelli just puts him where the best matchup is for that particular play, his listed possition might as well be DL. | The thing is its not just Peppers. It's the whole rotation. The Bears are relentless. Everybody stays fresh and its not like the downs w/ Shea and Wootton are let up downs. The biggest thing I see is that there is no place for a QB to step up into b/c of the pressure coming from the middle. _________________

Oh I know, I fully expect Peppers/Melton/Shea to have 10 sacks. _________________

I fully expect to see Mathis trying to cover Brandon Marshall all game instead of Derek Cox, and failing miserably.
Alshon > Blackmon
Gabbert sacked 7 times.
Jay Cutler tweets mid game that the jags are soft.
Devin hester returns one on our terrible coverage.
Mincey and Branch fail to generate pressure against some baaaaad olinemen.
Final score: Not pretty.
I think I covered all the bases. _________________

His best matchup is just anywhere on the DL, if he goes inside, Gabbert better throw it quick _________________

Both?

He's been better so far this season, but obv. Jay Cutler versus Blaine Gabbert helps that.
I remember before the draft though, a lot of people were down on Jeffrey. I watched him play in college a lot and I was hoping we'd draft him because if you watched him, the dude is a baller. Combine be damned, Alshon dominated the SEC like Blackmon dominated the Big 12.
Not saying I'd take him over Blackmon, but it would have been nice to have both.. _________________

12 for 12 catches on 19 targets for Alshon (7 uncatchable balls) | That's not accurate, he's had a couple just flat out drops, but for the most part he's been very reliable. _________________

Yeah, it makes you think about the possibilities.
I was all in favour of finding a way to trade back and take Jeffery and someone else in the 2nd as well.
But obviously, it didn't work out that way, and it might just take some time for Blackmon to really show his value. He started to look like the prospect we thought he was last week...hopefully he can build on this.
Sure would've been outstanding to have both though... *drool* |

I think in the plays Superman is thinking of, there was a hand in there from the defender but Alshon still had a chance at the ball and probably should've caught it anyway. Usually those drops stats are for balls that are right in the hands without the defender's hand near the ball. |
